Do Frozen Peas Naturally Have Salt?

Recommended Posts

I bought some frozen peas yesterday and the nutritional facts say there is sodium. I didn't think they added salt to frozen peas.

If there isn't salt listed in the ingrediants than it is probably naturally occuring sodium? Just guessing. Some do add salt though, so I always read the ingrediants.

I checked the bag over they don't list ingredients, hoping that means its just peas. The brand is Green Giant.

I've noticed that most frozen peas have salt added. Now I buy a bag (store brand) that says Salt-free Green peas. My salt free peas has 0 sodium, so I would think that your peas has salt if it has sodium.

So would blanching and de-shelling them remove the salt?
