I Am Weak & Stupid.

Recommended Posts

Hi All

This is a confession.

I am a weak person!

Yesterday my girlfriend and me was at the petstore and saw the cutest little fantail.

My girlfriend wanted him right away and i fell for him too.

BUT....being the sensible guy that i try to be, i told her:

The tank (66 gall) is still not cycled, it is very stupid to buy a new fish right now!!

And she (we) reluctantly left the store.

We go grocery shopping while talking about the fish and she uses dirty tricks on me.

She said : What if someone buys him/her for a bowl? how would you feel about that?

Low blows, huh folks?

Anyway being the weak guy i try NOT to be, i caved in.....

So here is the little wonder, the pics/movie are not great, maybe i will take more later.

Notice how his/her fins are looking to small for the body, hehe

The little cutie are still a little cautious about the bigger tankmates, but seems much

less scared than other fish we have had.

Guldklumpen aka Mr. Weak :)

He's certainly something else to look at! Cute fishy!

I'd just keep the water very clean for him until the tank is cycled but if you have established filter media already, move some media to your 66g.

Thx!

I am currently cycling a small Fluval 3+ filter in a bucket (4 weeks now)Ammo & Nitrite is still present.

When it is cycled i will use the "goo" or filterpads on my 66 gallon tank.

I will try to squeeze one filterpad down beside the filtercotton i its background filter.

and squeeze out the "goo" from the other filterpad all over the bioballs.

Maybe that will help.

Just keep an eye on things and do water changes as needed and he should be fine.

Your not weak. If you are I am too if I had seen that guy he would of come home with me.

What a darling little guy.

That is actually not a bad name, it can be used for both a boy and a girl :)

We are thinking about names that goes both ways, hehe :)

Im hoping its a girl though, since we allready have 3 boys and only 1 girl.

First off: New fishie is ADORABLE!!! She (I have decided this) is really a sweetie :D

Second: You stole my Tigger fish you scallywag! :lol1

Thirdly: Your orange fantail has the most amazing tail!

I can see why you had to bring the new fish home, she makes a very cute addition to your tank :)

He's adorable! I wonder what his adult color will be.

And "Stupid" is me. I keep adding to my tank even though I am overstocked. My niece's puppy dog eyes get me every time. I don't even have another tank yet to cycle to put them in, so you are a step ahead of me. lol

Your new fish is so cute. I can't wait to see him grow. And i love your orange fantail soooo much. It amazes me every time i see it. I saw one kind of like it at a pet store one time. It was super tiny and its tail was twice as long as its body. I couldn't get it because i had 2 fish in a 10 gallon. Now i am KICKING myself!

I hardly ever see black and white fish in my area. I hope he/she stays that color for you. So cute! You have beautiful fish, by the way.

Thx for all your input guys :)

The little guy is officially named Pepper now, the girlfriend approved it....thx for the name MrsMohr :)

And thx for the kind words about Mrs. Tvilsen (The big orange).

She really is a sweetheart, she lays eggs 1-2 times a month!! and is about 5½ years old.

Pepper is allready a little bandit.

I feed my Ancistrus catfish in his cave, that way the goldfish cant eat his food.

BUT!....Pepper on the other hand is so small that he can swim in and steal the food :(

Pepper should be afraid/respectful of the MUCH bigger catfish, but Pepper dont care....it appears that i have one more greedy fish now :D
