Black Moors, Arent They So Cute

Recommended Posts

My favorite kind of fish is the Black Moor Goldfish. just the way they kinda waddle when the swim makes them look so cute. I've heard people call them so and so bad words that i cant say on this sight, but i disagree. My Goggles is the cutest thing ever :heart Here is a picture of him. He is the fish on the right

My black moor is very cute and her name is Mama since she is the mother to an accidental breeding last year between her and an orange and white goldie that I had taken home (along with another all orange goldie) after out pastor used the 3 fish in his sermon Christmas of 2004. All the surviving babies (6) are orange or orange with some white except one that is white with just a dot of orange by her tail. The biggest baby is as big as Mama now in just over a year! :) To be fair, I was surprised goldfish could and would breed when they were the size that they were when they did. They were about 2 inches long!

Gobbles is so cute! I *should* be getting my very own black moor tomorrow if everything goes well! It will be my first moor and my first fancy goldfish! I might even get two fish, maybe even two black moors! Of course pics will go up right away...

Here are some old photos of my fish:

Telescope tank with Bubbles, Lipstick Girl and Golden:

Cutie Pie and Panda Girl who was loosing all her black, she originally only had a bit of white on her but ended up all white except for her eyes and her fins.

Panda Girl when we first got her:

Blackie, Panda Girl, Cutie-Pie and Newcap. Blackie (at top) has now grown so big with lovely long fins, as long as his body.

My baby moors, they were so small that their eyes and head were bigger than their bodies! Their bodies were only about as thick as a pencil They never grew very big, only about 2" in body length not counting tail.

Lovely fish disaster.

I went and woke up the fish, hoping to catch them in stun mode, but it didn't work. Here is an updated pic of Blackie:

and here is Bubbles

edit: I didn't use the tank lights in summer (US/UK winter) and the room is fairly dimly lit, over that time Blackie developed a white bum! The lights are on again now so it will be interesting to see if his bum goes black again. :lol1

i just found out something my small black moor like to eat...i recent moved to a bigger tank and reused the old gravel, so it is kind of shallow and some of the roots from the plants are showing. my small black moor LOVES to eat the roots from the plant! hes always picking at it and tugging on it trying to rip it off.

the only down side is that he doesnt digest it very well and he poop the roots back out
