@Sue they’re so cute!  Obviously don’t disinfect your filter or media if they’re healthy, but for the tank itself I just use bleach cut with water, and rinse until I don’t smell chlorine anymore.  Let it air dry in between if you’re worried, but it’s reliable and quite safe as long as you rinse thoroughly.

Thank you. Arctic Mama!

They seem to be very happy in the tank.

A "miss" as in you saw it and didn't like it?  Or a "miss" as in you won't be seeing it?  lol

Yeah, my girlfriend hid her face against me several times during that movie.  :heart

In other news, I want a Sturgeon (actually several) but I don't have a tank or pond big enough for them (yet) and most importantly, they need cooler temps than I can offer in Georgia!  Ahh, maybe someday.  But how cool are they?!?

Here is a baby one:

And a little group:

Somehow I missed commenting on this, but . . . purdy fishes!!!

I like the sand and smooth rocks.  But know this, I'm a plant guy and I gotta say that some Anubias in there would really make that tank pop!  :D

Success!

I've found it!  The Sterlet (Acipenser ruthenus) !

It's a small species of sturgeon suitable for ponds!  They grow to about 2 feet to 3 feet long.  Now, I still have to deal with the fact that it's probably too warm in GA to raise them.  But I'll have to look into that.

Here is a photo:

Albinos are also available:

They are really cool!

I cant seem to do anything without causing myself injury lately

Last Sunday was when I burned myself, my thumb got the worst of it...Thursday it was looking and feeling a lot better, then I jammed it between the chair and bin at work....jump forward to today when its quite raw looking because the top layer of skin had come off but was feeling great....I open my cupboard and something falls off the top shelf and hits my thumb on way down...it bled and has been hurting like crazy ever since
Then I went to start making dinner...cut my pinkie finger while cutting tomatoes :doh11: :help:

Now my right is is down a thumb and a pinkie.

I think you just need to dwell in a bubble for awhile.  A long while.  With no sharp objects or hot things or... stuff.

I stumbled upon this song and for some reason I love it.  I should hate it, but I love it!  It's just somehow adorable, I've almost got the thing memorized!  See if you get addicted too:

Moved my two Orandas into a 40B today. I want to clean and disenfect the tank they were in. Can you tell me what you use to disenfect a tank.  No one was sick or anything

Good looking fish!  You mentioned that you have plants coming in, great!  I would consider a background too to give a nice contrast and highlight the fish and plants.

If I'm just cleaning out a used tank, no diseases, I like to use white vinegar to help remove any old mineral deposits.  It's great as a mild disinfectant too without having to use a bleach solution.  I sometimes use Hydrogen Peroxide too, if I want to remove organics and a stronger disinfectant.  You can allow both to sit for 10 minutes and scrub away with a aquarium safe cleaning pad.

Actually, I have a photo, it will be about ten plants from this group:

They are being grown in a vertical aquaponics system!!!  And since I'm setting up an aquaponics system, the guy has offered to show me how his works!  I'm actually more excited to see his setup . . . the strawberry plants are just a bonus.  He posted this photo on craigslist, we talked on the phone today and he is trying to make this into a business!
