Canister filter leak

4 posts in this topic

Posted (edited)

Made a boo-boo with my canister filter. Was servicing it when it leaked on top. Made a little pond on my cabinet floor and carpet. But luckily I was able to respond quickly and close the shut off valve for the canister filter and dry the water ASAP. Question is, can I use the canister filter right away? Or hence should I wait for the head( where the pump is located) it to dry up?

Ive uses it straight after it has leaked and just dried it off and fixed it up....

Do you know why it leaked?  Did the gasket get pinched or the hoses shifted?  Otherwise, I don't know why you couldn't use it right away.  I always spread a thin layer of silicione lubricant on the rubber seals after servicing.
