A handful of humps... And I've got some genders now! All fish labeled male had confirmed stars. There was some chasing too.

Their pond has a severe algae problem but I detected nothing but 0 all through their water tests so I have no idea why it's so bad.

Star - male

Tercey - male

Bayana - male

Whisper - unknown

Josla - unknown

Rustic - male

Shrimp - unknown

Thanks ladies. My favorite now is Mr. Bayana. Third photo. His hump to belly ratio is so cute to me.

These little cuties I got last fall for free from a breeder who had too many. I didn't want 5 but I got 5 and I LOVE them to bits. Here they are when I got them last November. They're looking quite different now.

Tercey, Josla, Bayana, Whisper, and Star... In order.

Somehow they aren't dead. The massive disease did not affect their pond. With all my original fish dead, they are the last bit of fishy joy I have left. Did the little boys survive your unfortunate issue? Or do you have to restock totally? I would be surprised if Kanama (totally orange one) died.

Nope, the orange oranda (renamed Naranja by my daughter) and the white and orange oranda (renamed Pompom) both lived.  Every other fish bit the big one.  I need to get over to Gary’s place this week or the next and get new stock.

I'm glad they lived. It's difficult to call them different names after all this time but I'm glad you have some fishies still left.

Nice! I especially like the first one with the white body and red fins. If it stays like that when it matures, I think that’d be great.

As far as your algae problem, I don’t think it’s a bad thing, just excess nutrients. It can make the pond look unappealing, though.
