Hi guys. I'm so upset.

My cat, Junior, had dental surgery about 2 months ago, then again just under 2 weeks ago. He went for his post op check Friday morning and was doing well, they couldn't see any signs of anything wrong with him. Saturday Night (Last night) he was acting normal, trying to eat my dinner....we had to go out to the Doctors, got home barely an hour later and he was laying on the floor, screaming, struggling to breathe and unable to move his back legs. Rushed him to the emergency vet but there was nothing they could do....not really, treatment options were looking at $2000-$3000 a day for him to stay in hospital and the chance of him surviving it  was extremely low, and even if he did they couldn't guarantee he would walk again. They think it was a blood clot that started in his heart and then shifted. I can't get the image of him lying there and the sounds of his cries out my head. He was doing so well and now he is gone

Thanks koko. I keep beating myself up with what its...even though the vet even recommended euthanasia over treatment and that it was one of those things you cant really pick up until it's too late:( I keep dreaming about him too. At night when I've finished everything for the day it really gets to me.

Heres another baby cory pic

As my Dad keeps telling Justine.... Sometimes it is what it is... And thats not easy to think about. Its always the sudden deaths and sickness that gets us.

We always want our beloveds to be with us and not knowing when things will happen is the hard part :(

WOW thats just impressive to see the whiskers and the fins. How old are they now and how many do you think you have :)

I'll keep one or two. Don't have a big enough tank to keep them all sadly.

I don't know how you get all these spawns Mandy. I don't really get spawns and the ones I've seen never resulted in any fertile eggs or babies. You get spawns all the time. I want babies now...

My pond fish spawn a lot. There is so much hornwort and plant roots in there that it's near impossible for them to eat all the eggs.

Not raising any goldies this year though but since I havent raised Cory's before I thought I'd give it a go

Really struggling with losing Junior. I'll think I'm doing ok and then it hits me. Every night i dream about him and him been sick. I think the suddeneness and the severity of his condition has really messed me up :( The other animals are a good distraction but when it hits, it hits. Finding it so hard to concentrate at work and to find motivation to do anything

Its just going to take some time :hug I still think about Odie and sometimes I think I see him walking across the house. Then once in a while I catch myself calling Buddy..... Odie too sometimes. Its been 5 years since he passed and it still makes me cry when I think about him.

But we are here for you and it all takes time :hug

Thank you xx I keep thinking I see him around in his usual spots

Last night I found out I have arthritis in my neck and back x.x So that explains why I'm getting so much neck pain but not what I wanted to hear. My spine in general is very curvy, and I'm not sure if its moved at all since I had the rods put in because I Don't have the original films but going to have to see the specialists and see what they think,

Yes some of your pets die in such horrific and sudden ways. It's very sad. I'm sorry you're dealing with all this. And having arthritis at our age is a terrible thing as well. Stay strong.
