RIP Clownie

8 posts in this topic

We had Clownie for over 4 years - he appeared as a tiny orange fish in a little bowl as a present at my younger daughter's 6th birthday party in July 2013, and eventually grew into a big round white common. He was inexplicably floating & dead when I went to turn the light on & give the goldies their breakfast 2 days ago :( He'd looked fine the night before when I turned the light off, & the other 2 fish are looking healthy, so I don't know what went wrong (no spots, streaks or anything, all water parameters are normal, I checked just in case). I wonder if his unusual roundness was related to the mutation that was developed into the pearlscale variety? Or if there were some unknown stresses in his genetics as  "feeder" type fish? Anyhow, we were all very upset to lose him, & he will be missed - he is now buried in our butterfly garden. This pic of Clownie was taken just a couple of weeks ago:

Clownie in his usual attitude whenever he saw me - "Feed me!"

Awe, I'm sorry, he was lovely.  Sometimes they just drop dead on us.  He looks in perfect health in that picture, maybe only just slightly chubby in the I-ate-too-many-pellets way ;)

Shahbazin I'm so sorry to learn about your sudden and unexpected  loss of Clownie- both for you and your children.

He was a neat little guy, and I appreciated his all white appearance.

I'm sorry for your loss.
