Robin's mini me

Recommended Posts

Robin is of course the bigger one. Tangelo isn't actually his offspring but these two Ryukins were gotten from the same exact place about a year apart.

Tangelo has something to aspire to be lol.

I got these fish from a mass merchandiser known for being crappy to their fish. With that being said, there's a high chance that the fish came from the same supplier which would explain why they look so much alike.

Robin and his mini me today. I believe Tangelo is female but definitely not sure. In any case, she is definitely catching him. She has a shorter tail. With that being said, I believe she will outgrow him eventually. Robin didn't like being in that little tank but they weren't there long.

Thanks a ton. They both cost about $2 of course. Robin I will admit really outdid himself. I didn't think he would turn out so nicely as far as his shape goes. Tangelo is still trying to work on her little Ryukin shape. If all goes well it'll begin to develop next spring. Robin STILL has that white bit on his side and that SLIGHT bump/curve to his forehead that he had as a baby. So cute.

Very pretty fish! They are retaining their colours nicely. How often do you weigh them?

It depends. When I feel like it or when I inspect them. The small ones I weigh more often. I like to make sure they're not losing weight or anything.
