Getting a new bigger tank....need advice

5 posts in this topic

So, we decided that we really need to get Chunk and Fleck into a bigger tank-they are in a 29 gallon right now, but I'd like to go really big for these guys. If I get a 55, or a 72, I'm not sure how many more fish I can get...I'd like to get a few more-maybe another oranda, and I'm considering some cute fantails or maybe a shebunkin?

So, Chunk is about 2 inches without his tail, but he's SO FAT and his wen is HUGE (bigley even) and Fleck is a smallish Ryunkin-about an inch of body. With them, how many more can I get in a 55 or a 75?

A 55 gallon is good for two goldfish (but a 40B works better for fancies), a 75 can hold 3 or 4 goldfish.

I was going to say 40B but I know its smaller than the 75. :o I would go with the 75 if they want more than 2 :)

Yep, I'd go 75 if you want more fish.  And we always do . . . :rofl
