Bpanelli Posted April 5, 2017 Hi all. Could anyone tell me what this might be. New oranda in QT tank, daily water changes with .01% salt. 72-74 degree temp. Parameters are good with the daily changes. Using a good dose of Prime to condition water as the tap has 1 ppm ammonia. Fish eating normally and acting normally and has had some white fluffs on wen that come and sluff off fairly quickly. But the spots on/under the scale are new and has redness as well so more concerned as to what it may be. Link to pics here: http://s1302.photobucket.com/user/ameliafish/library/ Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Thank you. Brett

shakaho Posted April 6, 2017 It looks like you tested the tank right after a water change, which doesn't give useful information. Please test again, just before the next water change. Why do you not have a filter? Did you mean 0.1% salt (one teaspoon per gallon)? I really can't tell from the picture what might be the problem. A multicolored fish with different scale types looks all lumpy in a picture. Could you post some pictures from different angles and mark the areas you want us to look at. A shot from the top helps, as does taking the fish out of the water for a close up. How long has the fish had these spots and how have they changed since you first observed them?
