New Member Introduction

Recommended Posts

Hello y'all. I'm returning from a longish (many many years) break from the hobby. :)

I currently have a 55 gallon stocked with 4 mystery snails, 1 olive nerite snail, 4 zebra nerite snails and one low grade oranda (LFS steal). Also, I have 8 amazon swords, many different java ferns and anubias'. I don't know how to post pictures here, once I figure it out I'll definitely do so. I have a FX4 and I am also running a sponge filter.

I just wanted to briefly introduce myself, thanks for wonderful wealth of information. ;)

Here's a brief look at Ortus and Frank. I have 3 mystery snails, all named Frank.

Here is the tank while it was cycling. I had one hitchhiker when I received my plant order, an olive nerite Snail. His (really HER but I already named her) name is Edmund. She came from my favorite small business in Edmunds, Washington.

I'm rescaping the plants sometime this week, Ortus keeps digging in the Amazon sword pots looking for food. Off to Home Depot I go to find tighter fitting pots, or off the pots go to my quarantine tank. I also plan on gluing the java fern and anubias plants to driftwood.

Very nice!!  I think I'll start naming all my snails the same name rather than try to keep track of the patterns on their shells. :rofl

The hubster is traveling for work this weekend... so I rearranged the plants. He was going on about how lonely Ortus looks, I may need to see if my LFS has another oranda for my quarantine tank... ;)
