solar air pump

Recommended Posts

I have two tubs that are out of reach of any reasonably safe extension cord set-up for filtration/air.  I compensate by under stocking, weekly water tests, and a 20% daily water change.  So far, so good.

A couple of years ago, I tried a solar pump, and a solar aerator.  They were the cheapest ones Amazon had for sale, and lasted all of about six weeks.  Amazon delivered a Beckett solar air pump today.  This one is a bit higher end.  Still has mixed reviews.  We'll see.

Anyone know of a brand that has lasted for years?

I should just put in a real solar system, but just haven't put the focus on batteries, inverter, etc.  Big project.

I haven't had any experience with solar pumps etc.

But it all sounds very interesting and I would also love to know more about the best options with solar.

Solar could be an option for me when we finally move to our new property :thumbup2:

Like the two that broke, this little one is just plug-and-play.

Couldn't be easier to get going.  It is not based on a battery, so when the sun goes down, the bubbler stops.
