Culling escapee!

Recommended Posts

I just want some opinions. I was so vigorous with culling these but somehow she passed through. I'd not noticed her fused tail until she was about 4" long, but I'm not worried about that. It was only the other day that I'd noticed her spine was curved. It doesn't seem to be a problem now, she's fast at swimming with no buoyancy issues, but I'm worried it'll be a problem as she grows even more.

Fused tails are no big deal but twisted spines are. It may well cause problems later on, but it's up to you whether you want to cull now or roll the dice.

Thank you for the response.

I would euthanise her if it were causing her any pain right now. I'll take a chance. She's one I've had in a display tank and I've grown quite attached to her.

This is probably a sign that I need my eyes tested again. Haha.

Definitely. None of her siblings have these defects, yet she's about twice the size of all of them.  :rofl

She is a cutie! I have a culling escapee myself. He is doing well though so I'm leaving him be if it comes to where he is having trouble then will do what needs to be done. She is so pretty though!
