Yay! Fishies! You're doing a grand job here. Looks like you went the Solid Gold route... Telescope eye butterfly tails. They seem so popular these days. I wish I saw someone breeding Ryukins, but I don't :( Even the breeders and fish stores around here (rare) don't have Ryukins. I'd like a nice Ryukin like my Rhonda but not dinky like her and not $7,000 lol. Maybe someday! BTW - my favorite here is Lips.

PS - Slate weighed in at 81 grams yesterday. Free 9 month old, female, blue/olive, plant destroying, fish and snail bullying, mega hungry, water fouling, Boo Boo headed fish to good home. No swimming problems. Smart and friendly. Lol! Seriously though, she is going to outgrow the tank!

(Is it bad that I absolutely love Dark Horse by Katy Perry? Until Juicy J comes in, then yeah no bueno.)

Yes Jennie @ Solid Gold got me hooked on telescope in general... The first pair I found available that I liked was Smoochie and Orca and they happened to be butterfly... So that the route I went. If you look on GFK Facebook there is a guy that is breeding Ryukins, name is Jacob he post pics on there.

I told you Slate was a Ryukin Elephant hybrid...

And I agree I could totally do with out Jucy J on the Dark Horse track.. Hahaha

Gorgeous!  It's a little hard to tell that Smoochie is male.  Hardly any breeding stars on those pectorals . . . :tomuch:

Not again... Well you've got your hands full! I wanted to play with a spawn (just one and only recreational) but now I'm almost glad I ended up with only females!

It's a lot of work but I enjoy it and I have been heavy handed when it came to culling so I don't have a whole lot of fry left from the first three spawns.... Prob only 50-60 left

And I'm picking my top 10-12 to grow out.... I'm doing this all in my high rise apartment so I have limited space... But some how I'm finding ways to add more tanks lol

I love my goldfish community!!!

I lost 6 of my very best fish due to my brain being fried after the death of my Mother... I did a crucial mistake of not checking the waters temp deep enough during a water change.

My mentors and friends in the goldfish community came together and have me set up with beautiful new fish... And been of great comfort ensuring me these Mistakes happen to everyone... So I am up and running again.

Here are some of them:

Last but not least I am also working on the Blue Egg Phoenix conservation project bring back this almost extinct species of goldfish... Supper excited about these fry/juveniles

I have more fish traveling back with me from Cincinnati, once I get them home and settled there will be lots of pics.

Oh, no! So sorry you lost 6 fish and your mother. I'm happy to see you bouncing back okay. I lost my favorite fish Slate the Boo Boo to HITH and subsequent septicemia a while ago :( and I also did lose less than 1 gram but like 6-7 month old runted little Raiden to sudden death and also a new black moor to sudden death (tank was full of sickies and I had hoped since he looked healthy he'd be fine but nope). It happens. Hope to see everyone healthy and happy for a long time!
