Argh having trouble keeping Jungle Val from floating - any suggestion

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Just got my plants today. Decided on some Jungle Val, Anubius round leaf, and some crypt wendtii. The val have weights on them put the roots are very short. I'm having trouble keeping them in the sand and I haven't even turned on the pump yet

Do you think it's OK to put the roots under the sand and then a small stone on top to keep them anchored?

Sure, or just keep the sand slightly piled up around the roots until they take root on their own. Do you have any fish in your tank yet? If not, try adding some root tab fertilizers near where the roots are going to take hold, and it will encourage them to take hold.

No fish yet, just getting the tank started. Thank goodness. Can't imagine how much fun I'd have with the fish digging around them - ha ha. I'll use some tabs when I get them under again. Thanks for the input.
