Canadians: Where do you buy dimilin online?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am just wondering if anyone in Canada has found dimilin online that we can buy?  I don't need it now but it was one of the medications that was suggested as a good one to have on hand.  Living in a little town really decreases my options.   I'm not wanting anything bad to happen to my goldfish but I would just feel better to have some basic meds available if necessary.   I was able to find the other four suggestions online pretty easily and have ordered them but not dimilin.  I found meds that treat anchor worms but not dimilin specifically.  I wonder if it's one of those controlled things in Canada?  I know for my planted aquarium I was trying to find potassium nitrate and I had to send a copy of my drivers licence to the supplier before he could send it to me.  However, in the US it's super easy to order. :undecided:

Do you have a pond?  Unless you keep your fish outside or buy them from a source that keeps them outside, Dimilin isn't really something you need to keep on hand.  It is primarily for anchor worms and fish lice which are less of a problem (though not unheard of) in indoor aquariums.

Here are my suggestions for a goldfish medicine cabinet:

Salt

Epsom Salt

Prazi http://www.bigalspets.com/prazipro-4-fl-oz.html

Metronidazole http://www.bigalspets.com/metronidazole-5-g.html

Kanamycin http://www.bigalspets.com/search/go?w=kanaplex

Nitrofurazone http://www.bigalspets.com/furan-2-powder-packets-10-pk.html

Thanks for your help :)  No I don't have a pond.  Okay good because it's very problematic to get dimilin over here.  I saw the ebay but they don't ship to Canada.  I already have salt and Parzi.  Epsom Salt is easy to get.   And I was able to order the following:

  • Api Furan
  • Kanaplex
  • Seachem Metronidazole
  • Para Guard

They should all be here in the next 2-3 weeks.  So I think I have a decent medicine cabinet then :)

Good question.  When I saw that earlier and checked it says they don't ship internationally. :idont I emailed them to get clarification.  I have noticed a few times that things do get listed on the Canada ebay website but don't ship to Canada.  I will update the post when they get back to me.

Okay so they do ship to Canada!  She got back to me fast.  I'm going to skip it for now though.  I have already spent a ridiculous amount of cash on my little sweet duo :hide:  Thanks again for your help  :)

Where in BC do you live, lizam?

I live right in central BC on the American boarder.  It's about 2 hours North of Spokane Washington. :)  Your oranda is gorgeous by the way!

Thank you, she's pretty lovely!

I grew up in Vancouver so was curious if you lived anywhere close by :) I do know your area pretty well though, but unfortunately no LFS suggestions.

Oh nice! :)  I lived in Vancouver for about 18 years...I still miss it sometimes.  A beautiful city with great food but it just got too busy and expensive for me.

Definitely a beautiful city.  I totally miss it!  I love San Diego and everything, but it just isn't the same...the culture is different, the food isn't as diverse, and it barely has more than 1 season.  It is cheaper than Van though so there is that ;)

Anyways, nice to see you on the board, its always good to see that Canadian flag ;)
