I'd be tempted to guess that it's a Mayfly larvae?

I don't know much about them, but I imagine they are predatory and may eat your fry

If you are not sure what it is, remove it.

If you are curious as to what it is, remove it into a separate container and see what happens :)

Better safe than sorry.

Definitely not a parasite. Mayfly sounds like a good guess.

Today after usual checking for my goldfish fries earthen pond Hapa, really thousands of mayfly seen stick on the corners of the Hapa , and many beetles observed on the surface of the pond to gulping air and as i know beetles in the larvae stage is fry enemy . First do you think its not mayfly and larvae for some predators . Second how to fight all this predators specially the black beetles !!

is it possible to apply netting to the top? you can add a few more posts or cross beams and throw a net over to keep the beetles out? are there any other predator like things that concern you? ie, opportunistic birds etc..

where the fish are, how deep is that point?
