I have lost one of the 8 babies. Not sure what happened, but it happened during the power outage. It was stuck to the filter intake when I woke up this morning. The other 7 are looking happy though and love foraging through the plants and sand. I'll update with some pics as soon as I can get some decent shots. :photo:

It was a strange outage. We hardly got any wind or rain or lightning. Very strange. We didn't even lose power during Sandy

We had terrible wind/rain. Lost power almost 2 weeks for Sandy! :o

Really poor pics, but you get the idea. They seem to be doing well. I have lost 2 since adding them to the tank when theirs broke. The runt, and the one I lost during the power outage.

Thanks! The little yellow guy is my favorite. I plan on keeping 3 of them if they make it with no issues. i have to rehome 3 others.

Congrats, Rob!!! I'M SOOO JELLY!!!! In the 5-6 years I've had goldfish, they've never spawned. :cry

Mikey try giving them a nice dinner outside on a warm evening with some candlelight and Brazilian music.

Well, it worked in "the Player." :rofl3

Rob, best of luck to you and the tinys. Don't be too hard on yourself if they don't make it...8 isn't a lot to start with. You're doing your best, and remember they'd be lunch if you left them in the tank. :yikes That they've made it this far is a testament to your care. But then they eat each other. :doh11:

Nice fish Rob.

I like the tiger striped fantail a lot...you know, if you hate that one and are looking to ditch it :rofl

That is my favorite one too Mike. Sorry. I hope he/she keeps the stripes, but I doubt it. That one and the calico ranchu are the 2 I am definitely keeping even if it means adding a 4th tank.

Love the calico with the dorsal fin and rosy cheeks (transparent gill covers) :)...really cute. They all look nice and healthy.

From my experience with raising fry, they tend to keep the black stripes, but the size of the black stripes stays the same as the fish gets bigger so it then becomes a black patch rather than a stripe. Cute babies btw.
