EGGS !

Recommended Posts

thanks guys :D

eggs are looking good this morning, some are obviously 'unfertile'-

but quite a few are still 'clear' so keeping my fingers crossed :happydance

i also picked up some methylene blue at my lfs yesterday to combat any potential fungus-

should i add it to the water?

will it hurt the plant that's in there?

If you've placed the eggs somewhere else rather than the main tank then you can perfectly add it. I usually put 1 drop per liter, but of course it depends on the concentration so it's better to follow producer's instructions. 99% you won't get fungus at all. It won't hurt the plants, maybe some burns here and there but it's very rare.

You're welcome. Just in case wait for some more replies. It would be better not to use chemicals but as it would be 3 drops aprox let's say it won't hurt much. With my second batch of eggs I had to use mblue because eggs were one next to another like a brick wall, so it was inevitable.

some of the eggs this morning:

DSCN2728.jpg
(i don't think any of these are fertile :( )

DSCN2726.jpg
(i am holding out hope for the ones on this rock though ! ....sadly a few have started to cloud....and the rest of them didn't show up on the camera very well :doh11: )

.....was supposed to add methylene blue to the water to kill off any fungus but when i bought it at the fish store i was in such a rush that i purchased the wrong product :glare: going out to exchange it this afternoon hopefully....

i really want the babies to make it
caring for fry would be such a cool expirience !
but at this rate i don't know what i should be doing :krazy:
also, i don't really trust my judgment on which eggs are okay and which ones are duds.
partially due to my eye-sight and partially due to the fact that i put them in a rubbermaid bin that really obscures viewing of any sort
