Ryukin abdomen distended. Constipation?

Recommended Posts

The Epsom draws fluid out of the tissue so it will help with the bloating. You can certainly still add it with the metro. Dissolve it first. It dissolves much more easily than regular/aquarium salt.

That should work. As long as there are no scents added and the only ingredient is magnesium sulfate, which it looks like that's what you have. :D

Steve replied this morning and also mentioned dropsy, possible treatments such as antibiotic injections and medicated food.

I started treatment too late.

She lost her balance now unable to stay upright. No food for three days. Should I give her a little repashy gel?

Metro med will probably not delivered in time.

Should I add kanaplex to the water?

I have had fish recover from drospy at this point of pineconing, your not too late, have hope :) Do you have a heater in your QT? you still have metro powder in the water and epsom? I would order the mms or see if another member can ship yo some faster.

Get TriSulfa to add along with metro. If you cannot, then we can consider Kanaplex.

Heater set 80 degree, metronidazole, and Epsom salt in the water.

Tried to give her one small piece of repashy jel, but unable to swallow. Very lethargic, floaty, and barely breathing. It is too late.

Andy, i am sorry to read that she's rejecting food :(

would it be possible to get a video of how she's currently behaving? and during this recording, could you also try to feed her so that we can see exactly how it is that she's rejecting the food? perhaps she's eager to eat and then spitting it out instead of chewing? we could look at other ways of getting meds into her if we can see her in action..

It isn't too late. Bringing fish back from death's door is something our team has done before. But it is only achieved if the person caring for the fish has a positive attitude about the situation and keeps trying. At this point trying is all that you can do, so do not give up.

All, thank you for help and encouragement. Strawberry died shortly after my post yesterday. She was not breathing, no movement just floating. Just buried her in my backyard. The color of her abdomen turned brownish black.
