They are looking good! What age do you introduce a sponge filter to fry?

Thanks guys!

So far so good. I'm not sure if I have lost any since transferring them to the breeder box. I haven't been able to find any bodies....but there is at least 25 in there....

I know one does have a bent spine but is eating ok right now.

Sebastian, I'm not sure when you start using a sponge filter....they have a bit bigger to get in my opinion till I'll need one though. I might end up building a smaller version of my upflow biolfilter just for the fry since I get awesome water parameters with my original one.

I know people recommend doing a round of prazi on fry. At what age is this best to do??

My fry are going well!

But they will be a month old in a week! =o

Im wondering what i should start feeding them when they get older, the live brine shrimp are good for a little longer and i also feed them first bites too, but there's going to be a point when they need more and i want to be prepared!

Thanks!

How have I missed this since your fry hatched?!

They look great!!

I treated with prazi at one week and then again a couple of weeks after that. :D

I fed BBS almost exclusively til my fry was about 7-8 weeks old. However, I only had one fry so that didn't require a lot of BBS. :rofl3 Recently (mine is 8 weeks old now) I have fed crushed pellets (NLS, Omega One and Hikari Lionhead), Repashy Spawn and Grow, and frozen brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, bloood worms and spirulina brine shrimp. Basically the same thing I feed the adults. :D

Good luck with them! You've got a bunch!! :nana

Thanks Fantailfan!

I treated for flukes once already, so im good with that =]

Ill keep feedig them live BBS for awhile then, i still have a whole vial that i just opened, plus im feeding hikari first bites too.

Then ill just start popping in some repashy solient green and see how they like that, ill have to look into getting some frozen foods too, as i dont feed my adults anything frozen....maybe i can blanch some veggies see how they like them too.

Good! I haven't lost any!

They will be five weeks old this Saturday.

I'm thinking they will have to move into the ten gallon soon, maybe in the next two weeks.

I want to keep them in the breeder box as long as I can because it's so much easier....better water parameters and all....

I should post a pic soon!
