Well that was a surprise... :)

Recommended Posts

A couple days ago, I woke to find my beautiful girl Lexi jammed up between the filter rain bar and the side of the tank. Clearly she and Adonis had been spawning again and it got out of hand. I didn't even bother looking for eggs, because I'm already at the end of raising a batch of fry and wasn't really interested in doing any more this year.

Well. Look what I just fished out, by hand out of my tank.

There was just hundreds of fry swimming around the tank. I had to save them. So, I guess I'm raising another lot, like it or not. Lol

Here is Mum:

And here is Dad:

They are both Oranda's, just Mum's wen is much flatter. Either way, they both have stunning tails, so I can't wait to see the tails on these babies!!! :D

Well the babies are doing amazingly well, they've grown about half as long and as wide and now have tiny little fins and tails. :)

Here they are in their tub.

And unbelievable, they've been joined by another 20 or so brother and sisters. I did a water change today and found more newborn fry swimming around the tank.

Obviously that's not all the babies, just a random selection. ;)

Scarlett, you should probably start prazi treatments sooner rather than later. :)

I was thinking I'd do it at the two week mark. Some of them are younger, so I didn't want to bombarde them with chemicals too soon. :)
