OMG EGGS!

Recommended Posts

I have had my goldfish for almost six years....they are huge!

And never in my six years of keeping them have i ever had eggs!!

I can not contain myself!

Its not the eggs thats the exciting part really....i mean, it is exciting but what i am the most excited/proud of is that i have managed to create a healthy enough environment for my goldies to live in that they were able to lay eggs!!!

EEEKKKK!!!!!!

I took pics too, just to be sure, cuz you never know maybe alien put them there?

There is only snails in this tank and them and i am 100% positive that i have a male and was 50% positive that my other was a girl.

They have to be goldfish eggs.....

They have had to be laid within the last day and a half.....

Congrats! Quite the achievement :)

On a side note I'd love to know how you stopped your Goldies eating floating plants? Mine leave every plant alone, I put some frogbit in the tank...obliterated, I only managed to save a few pieces :c

Thanks!!!

Im going to set up a ten gallon and put some in and attempt to raise some, my mother also thinks its pretty cool, maybe after this she will want her own goldfish tank =]

Hertz, i over feed my goldfish plus i put a massive amount in at one time, they now almost completely cover the top of my fifty five gallon, they eat them here and there and munch on the roots but havent decimated them yet....

So i have been thinking....i dont think i want to set up the ten gallon for the eggs.

Im just going to see how things go in the tank and let it all happen as it will.

I dont really have the time for paying special attention to another tank....

Fry might survive, there are plenty of plants to hide in if they hatch =]

Ok, I'll keep an eye out!

Most of them look white not translucent, but there are hundreds and hundreds of them all over the span of the fifty five and on the floating plants on top...

So question, I have all these eggs, and most of them are no good. And they are starting to grow fungus, do I just do extra water changes and the eggs will decompose and disappear on their own?

I'd take them out. There's nothing good about leaving rotting eggs in the tank.

Fish will eat eggs if left alone but I don't think it's ideal to let them eat ones with fungus. :yikes

Hmm, taking the eggs out would prove to be very difficult. They are literally on everything, the floating plants, the eco complete, the river rocks, the non floating plants, the glass, the intakes/out takes of the filters and even on the ramshorn snails and MTS....there are a ton of eggs!

Here is an update too, i just found this when looking for good eggs =]

I even saw the little guy/gal move in there!

Thanks Tammy!

I am so excited, if by chance any fry survive, i probably will only keep one and will have to give away the rest. At this time in my life i can not upgrade to a bigger tank...

Unless my mother decides that a goldfish tank needs to be set up in the living room =]

I just saw my first fry!!

It was wiggling around/trying to swim close to the bottom!

It is still too small to take pics of due to the fact that it wont hold still and is to teeny and translucent!!

Eeekk!

I will be dogsitting tonight and saturday night and im working so i wont be home at all till sunday night...hopefully when i come home i will have more fry to see and to show you!!

My internet sucks, so i will try to upload it in a while when i go into town!
