Hello from South Dakota

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

My husband purchased a 75 gallon tank and we are in the middle of setting up the equipment for it.

We do not have any fish as yet. We have however, decided on the fancy Goldfish instead of tropical.

We are enjoying reading up on everyone's information, and hope to get some real good input on the support equipment we will need to keep happy fish.

We are remodeling a older home, which will give us access to plumb into a bathroom for water changes. And therefore room for ab external pressure filter set up.

I will ask in the equipment forum about a Pro Eco Pressure filter and your thoughts on that type of system.

I look forward to learning so much.

Post those photos!!!

Welcome! I never heard of that kind of filter, and my friend Google tells me that it's a pond filter. Is there a reason you want that instead of a traditional canister? I'm not sure that the pond version is actually different.

Are you going to fishless cycle? Do you know what kinds of fish you want? I wish I had an empty 75 to set up!! :clapping:;)

Hello and welcome!! :D

Good for you for making sure your tank is well prepared! Very cool that you even get to set up your plumbing to help out with it!!

I'm guessing you've read up on cycling since you don't yet have any fish :teehee but if you need any help with fishless cycling (if that is, in fact, what you plan to do), post in the water quality section and you will get lots of advice :) good luck!!

I just set up my 75 gallon last week. I wonder if you will make as much of a mess out of your house as I did out of mine! :rofl

If you have questions, ask away! We are here to help. :D

Good luck with your new adventure. :nana
