Hey Everyone

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I'm fairly new to the hobby but I'm not completely new, still there is much to learn ;)

I have two goldfish, 1 blackmoor and 1 orange/red oranda. They are in a 20gallon bare bottom tank at the moment, not for long though so don't worry ? , they will be in at least a 40 gallon hopefully soon.

Here's some photos guys :D tanks not styled the best because I just removed all the gravel and made it a bare bottom tank. Also any tips on removing all the tiny pieces of gravel from the bottom?

I wouldn't worry about those little tiny pieces of gravel still on the bottom. Chances are, they're going to root through those coffee cups, and spit the rocks on the tank floor. I have the same problem with my little monsters. :rofl

If you want to, you can remove the big siphon part of your water changer, and the hose will be a much stronger suction. Please be advised that your fish can really get hurt, using this powerful suction--you really have to be careful that they don't swim up to the hose and investigate. I usually put my finger in front of it, so they couldn't get near it, if they tried. Visualize trying to change the flow of a garden hose--that's what I do. :)

Your tank is lovely!!! I took painstaking efforts to remove every last bit of gravel from my tank when I went bare-bottom...and then, like yafashelli said, my oranda spit a bunch of pieces back out from my vases xD So I don't bother anymore. They are little interior designers!

It's a Thai fishing boat decoration haha, and I slid my air stone through this open part in it because its too loud on the plain glass bottom Lol ! Oh well it worked out pretty cool :D
