Why does my air pump tubing looked burned?

Recommended Posts

I had this air pump for around six month.

I noticed that it tubing looks burned last month.

The air pump stopped working two days ago.

Why does it look burned?

I had something similar happen, but it was because I didn't have a check valve and water went back up my tubing and shorted out the bubbler. Could be the same thing? Not sure =/

My pump is connected to one of these air wands.

Do I still need a check valve?

I'm not sure, I have/had other bubblers running and never ran into this issue before or again. I'm sure someone will be along shortly that will know and be able to help you =D

You do still need a valve for that wand. Unless your pump is above the waterline of the tank.

Ok ashlee thanks. My pump is sitting on the floor and my tank is sitting on a office type desk.

My airline tubing looks like this and is above my tank and has a check valve.
