Lionchus (no good tail tucks, but no big wens either :hmm )

  • 55 grams and 2-7/8 inches (Eggbert is a very fat-bodied fish)
  • 45 grams and 3-1/4 inches (Poof)
  • 70 grams and 3-3/8 inches (Poopsie)

Ryukin

  • 70 grams and 3-1/4 inches (Goldeen)

Oranda

  • 80 grams and 3-1/2 inches (Gwen)

Tele

  • 35 grams and 2-3/4 inches (Black Eye)

no-grow fantail (I think)

  • 25 grams and 2-1/2 inches (Oreo)

I weighed but didn't measure the last two, so I will add them later.

I've never weight or measured my fish. maybe I should try it tomorrow on tank cleaning day. What is the best way to get accurate measurements though?

Use a kitchen food scale. Put a bowl of tank water on it, tare or "zero" it if it has that capability. If not, just record how much the container + water weigh and then subtract that from container + water + fish weight.

It's quite interesting. It really made me realize what shrimpy fish I have compared to everyone else? :rofl

you can measure them by running a ruler over the tub that they're in which you used to weigh them :)

I finally weighed my fish! Unfortunately I couldn't find the tape measure or ruler so I don't have their measurements.

Google - 64 grams

Cali - 82 grams

Tiger - 71 grams

Honey - 38 grams

Bamboo - 20grams

Abraham - 80 grams

I'd estimate my tub to be about 15cm long and Tiger pretty much went end to end in it though (He is a comet)

Cleo- 46 Grams- 2.5 inches

Cal- 44 Grams- 2.5 inches

Pumpkin- 12 grams- 1.25 inches

Ginger- 10 grams- 1.25 inches

The measurements are just me eyeballing it, but it seems about right. Just picked up the kitchen scale last week, I was so excited to use it.

The scale I ordered just came in the mail today.

So here are the numbers of my fish:

1) Calico Ryukin: 5cm, 6g

2) Red and white ryukin: 4cm, 4g

3) Red and white Oranda: 6cm, 26g

4) Red oranda: 5.5cm, 26g

My fishies still need a lot growing up to do. Hope this is helpful to you or anybody.

(my measurement for length is head to butt)

I made a brave attempt at trying this today :goldfish:

I started with Lisa (fantail) who came in at 365 grams, but that's as far as we got cause she made a MESS with one flick of her massive fins; back to the tank she went lol

The mess was big enough that I had to forego weighing anyone else LOL
