Gel food question

Recommended Posts

It says I should add high quality fish food to my gel food mix...

But commercial fish foods make my fish float, so why would I wanna put that in there? :S :o

The fish food is to help off-set some of the deficiencies your gel food might have in terms of nutrition. Your fish may not float, since not as much fish food is being used.

However, this is not necessary. The idea is that you have to make sure your fish is getting enough nutrition. For example, a gel food comprising entirely of veggies may not be sufficient for young and growing fish.

There are recipes in the food section of the forum, as well as two links in my signature. In general, I believe it's 1 tablespoon per cup of food, although you will have to determine this in your own situation and add more or less. It's somewhat of a trial and error on this part.
