  1. hello, it's been a while since i posted an update. i haven't been around a great deal due to work and family commitments. hopefully that will change soon here are my guys. thanks for watching
  2. Hello!! I haven't really shown my fish and tank outside of the subbies forums, so here is a video update I made!
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ObaZaKxlRJc down to two Cory cats but other than that very ones doing brilliant and my lily is finally coming back after the goldfish tor it up
  4. Well, I finally figured out how to use my sisters camera to take pictures of my fish!! I tried tirelessly to figure out her aperture, shutter speed, and ISO settings, and after many failed pictures I finally figured out that her camera is smarter than me, and using the auto setting with burst photos makes for some good shots I tried to focus mostly on my more camera shy fish, but a couple more snuck into some of the shots (; My newest fish Nova and Minnie are absolutely gorgeous, and the pictures don't do them justice. Minnie is the same Minnie that Ms. Jenny decided to rehome. I picked her up on the way down from Oregon and I couldn't be more thrilled! She is absolutely perfect and I can't thank Ms. Jenny enough. I hope that even with the overstocking (and plans for a second large tank) this is still a good home for Minnie (: And Nova, I found at a petsmart. I had never seen anything like her! She was labeled as an Oranda, but she is incredibly thin and long. I am not sure if she is just an Oranda or if she is maybe something different? What do you guys think? Without further ado, here are some better pics of everyone in the 125 (: Nova (: I was thinking about submitting one of these 2 pictures for pic of the week. Minnie, she was hiding in the corner and it was hard to get a good pic of her. She likes to stay near the bottom to forage for food (: Fio, wiggling away... A cluster of fish. Mushu, Nova, Sunny, and Cream Sashimi, showing off her color change. Camera focused on the dirty glass ): More clusters! Caligo, realizing I took a picture of her. She likes to turn away from the camera...... Sunny! Anyone know what is up with his coloring? And when I actually get a good shot, the light is too bright ): They all look 10 times smaller in this monster Thanks for looking!
  5. Kingsley has been doing so much better after his metro treatment and epsom salt treatment. It looks like his eye is blind, but it is not anywhere near as swollen. He even built a bubble nest and flared! Can someone tell me what that white spot is? I think it was there through his metro treatment, but I am not sure.... He was being hard to photograph! Can someone tell me what these fish are? They are strangely furry
  6. So I feel like my guys have grown a bit but maybe it is just me lol. Any who here are some updates on my guys I am still thinking of names for my bubble eye and I have a pretty good idea what I might call my red Oranda as well Best viewed in HD First up is my Bubble eye my sister pointed out the other day he is getting fat lol. I then noticed he seemed a bit rounder and is looking very nice specially that tail since it is staying up nice and tall Next is Castor <3 I decided to add something to his tank since I felt he had nothing to do. I do want my real plants again but I am going to wait till we finish moving to are bigger place and have more time to take care of them I feel that Castor has also grown specially in the belly area lol and a bit longer as well Here is my new Oranda, he was my special buy since when I got him I knew he was going to be a handful and have a very eventful QT period He has perked up a lot today so I figured I would post a video of him and I didn't want him to feel left out lol
  7. Hey guys! So I am always flooding you guys with pics of the teles and the girls so now it is time for the boyz! These three are total psychos and will bully anyone but each other lol. I actually had to remove the few girls I had in there because they wouldn't leave them alone! They are SUPER low maintenance. So for anyone who doesn't know them we have: Einstein, the red cap which I have had for almost 3 years. Pixel, my 1dollar fantail fish who is stunted but SO HEALTHY which I have had for 1 year. SW my recently adopted 15year old white veil-tail. btw Pixel is IMPOSSIBLE to photograph well because he is way too fast and small! :heart
  8. Update on my tank. Gravel removed. Makes cleaning easier. Halved the plant horn wort because it was to much and collecting debris’s. Change 50% water on Monday and Thursday due to a lot of free time on those days. Removed 40 watt t5 light system which was hot and sucking up electricity. Replaced with marine land Double Bright Led 24-36 inch light http://www.amazon.com/Marineland-Double-Bright-24-Inch-36-Inch/dp/B0032536QK/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top I gotta say I like the LED lights. I like the shimmer affect and the fact that’s its cooler and saving me money. Since I am only growing duckweed, hornwort and watersprite I hope it has enough watts to do it. What I notice now is I have a lot of brown algae all over the place, I have been wondering how to get rid of it with out scrubbing. I was thinking a otocinculus until I read the goldfish will eventually eat it killing both. Maybe the LED lights wont be as powerful and it wont grow. Also feeding habits. I read it takes 16 hours for something to be digested by a gold fish. I feed twice a day, once when I wake up and once before I go to sleep. Its a decent amount too. They still seem to be extremely hungry and super beggars for food. All they do is beg. There’s no way I am underfeeding. Its got to be a trick they know if they swim towards me for hours on end I will break down and give them food.
