My step-son inherited a pond when they bought their new house and he originally started with goldfish and some small koi, he has now moved up to buying large, expensive koi. He does not want to keep the Goldfish and small koi that he has, and actually there are a few larger koi as well. He only wants to keep the really expensive Japanese ones. I think there are about 10 goldfish ranging from 4 to 6 in and the koi are probably 6 or 7 in, with one or two being about 10 inches. So some of these are big enough that they should probably go in a pond and not a tank. I just wanted to see if anybody wants them for a pond or large tank because I don't know what he's going to do with them and I don't have room. They live north of Seattle but I would be willing to help transport to the right home. He has had these fish for about 2 months and all seem to be healthy. He may also be getting rid of a 7-inch pleco too. Let me know if you're interested.
Hi all, I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but I am wondering if anyone in the NYC/New Jersey area would be interested in taking on Vickie, my orange oranda. I would like her to have a good home in a cycled, not-overstocked tank, ideally with some friends. She is currently kind of lonely. I used to be a regular writer here at Koko's (my blog is "One Fish, Two Fish"), but I am giving up fish-keeping for personal and practical reasons. You'd be welcome to have any of my aquarium equipment, too (lights, AC 70's, a 29- and 10-gallon tank, medicines and chemicals). I also have a very cute tiger nerite snail you'd be welcome to have and some plants. Vickie is healthy and regularly Prazi'd, but, of course, I would recommend quarantining her in case your tank has different pathogens. I don't have a car, so you would have to pick her up. I live in Jersey City. Below see a fairly recent picture of Vickie in her tank. Thanks.
I need to rehome my 2 Ryukin to someone in the UK, I really don't want to have to take them to my LFS and know I'm going to find a good home for them here; I would appreciate any offers. I'm having to make more space for my butterflies as I'm a little over stocked, which is a shame but as I'm planning on breeding them I need as much space as possible (so they can grow big and strong ) I can take more pictures if you ask. This is Luna, I don't 100% know she's a girl but she's never had breeding stars. I got her from Maidenhead Aquatics for £12 about a year ago. She has a small part of her tail fin missing from her injury when I first got her, but other than that she's healthy and really nice colours. And this is Albus, again, I don't know if he's a boy as never seen breeding stars. I bought him from Star Fisheries in Surrey for £80 in October. Really nice fish, does like to gulp at the surface but has never shown signs of bloat or been floaty. Loves to eat!
