  1. RAOKing off some salvinia minima, harvesting from several tanks. Just pay $7.05 for usps small flat rate box via PayPal. PM me to claim, 2 packages available currently. Salvinia minima is a great floating plant for aquariums, its easy to grow than frogbit and water lettuce-it does not mind being under a lid, doesn't burn from bright light, and doesn't rot from condensation drips, nor is ti picky about air flow (like frogbit and water lettuce). Its an undemanding grower, and helps diffuse light for those with planters tanks getting a bit too much light, and helps suck up excess nutrients/nitrates bettas love making bubble nets in it, an enjoy the shade it gives. If you ever want to be rid of it its much easier to remove completely than duckweed. I don't know if goldfish will eat this, I've not tried it in their tank. Portion= 10"x6" tub Example of portion size below closeup
  2. container is 6"x5" and about 0.75" depth of riccia this is no duckweed, salvinia, or other floaters. Comes from a tank that has been snail free since set up nearly 2 years ago. There is always a chance of some algae but I don't see any. makes great floating mat or if you keep up on trimming it can be tied down to decor/rock/wood. PM me to claim.
  3. RAOK time again! aka free stuff just pay shipping cost. Those of you that have seen my tank journal know that my water sprite grows out of control. I did a massive water change yesterday and thinned out quite a bit of it! It takes up about 3" of a 5g bucket! Giving away for price of shipping. $7 for small flat rate priority box stuffed to capacity. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. PM for faster response. I have probably 2-4 packages available. Shipping only in Continental US. If you have questions feel free to ask. Disclaimer: may have diatoms (aka brown algae). Tank today (after thinning it out)
  4. I only ship in the continental US (includes Alaska), only take payment (to cover shipping cost) via PayPal. $7 for a small flat rate box with 10x6" portion of salvinia minima. Currently have 2-3 boxes worth. First come first serve. Will update thread as I have more/less available. Its a cool easy to grow floating plant. I have it in most of my betta tanks as a light diffuser/shade for the bettas and the other plants. I've not tried it with goldfish. It's a fairly small leafed/rooted floater, but not as small/annoying as duckweed, great nitrate buster, has cool cat tongue like texture on top of leaves. It doesn't get burnt by bright light, nor rot from condensation under a hood (like water lettuce and frogbit will). I notice it grows larger with more light-1 tank has a 13 watt cfl in a reflector lamp about 2" above the floaters. Photo showing example portion size: Top view on a 3g picotope (Freya is peeking out to say hello): Underside view on a 7g cube (Xerxes is photo bombing)
  5. Doing a Raffle style RAOK for some easy to grow live plants! What You Can Win: The this raffle is for a small flat rate priority box completely stuffed with water sprite. Before you brush that off, know that I can cram quite a lot in there! Water Sprite imo is a great plant for goldfish tank as it can be left floating or planted/anchored and it grows like mad for me (major nitrate buster). Undemanding plant does fine in low light setups. Free Extras you can request if you win: • java fern plantlets (3 regular-1 narrow leaf)- low light slow growing plant undemanding • chain sword plantlets (unsure exact type)- medium light plant enjoys ferts-can be an iron hog. The person I originally got them from says they get to 2 feet across but they are still babies. •Leopard vals- narrow but long grass like plant-similar to Italian vals but with red flecks. Great background plant, does well in low light, short or tall tanks. Stronger light and iron fert bring out the red leopard markings more. •Nymphaea Taiwan- a smaller lime green leaves water lily, great accent against darker leaved plants like ferns and anubias. Does well in low-medium light. Can be trained to stay certain height with aggressive trimming. •Salvinia minima- Great floating plant does well under a lid unlike frogbit and water lettuce, easier to control than duckweed. •Riccia fluitans- a floating crystalwort, makes lovely soft mats at the surface over time. Can be tried down underwater for scaping too. How To Get It: Make a post in this thread. Each post # acts as a raffle ticket #. You can have random conversations, post photo(s) of your tank(s), whatever you'd like just don't be rude ^^ Post between time this thread starts and July 9th at 7pm EST (eastern standard time) to enter. Winner will be chosen via random # gen by 9pm same day and will be sent a PM. I ask the winner just to pay shipping cost for the package ($7) via PayPal goods and services plants are free of charge. I may have enough water sprite for 2 winners (we'll see when raffle ends) If so I will do another random # gen roll for a second winner (the same person cannot win twice). Example photos of tanks with the plant species mentioned: adult java ferns (regular in back, narrow in front): Lightly planted water sprite and Nymphaea Taiwan ton-o-water sprite Salvinia minima Riccia Chain sword adult (original source's photo) leopard vals
