  1. I have three GF babies in a 0.2% salt solution. Increasing to 0.3% shortly. But my question is How long after they eat should I see Poop? I havent seen a lot of anything... are they constipated? One is showing signs of swimming with is head down tail up. Going to do the epson salt and green peas today. Newbie here Thanks for the info. Tracey
  2. Hi Everyone, I did a 90% water change on Monday and while my three telescope butterfly tails were in the bucket during the water change I fed them one defrosted cube of blood worms. Everything seemed fine when I returned them to their cleaned tank. After a little while I noticed one fish sitting on the bottom of the tanked moving his mouth a lot like he was panting. I left him in the tank and did not feed the fish for 24 hours. He did not improve so I put him in a large bucket of water 3.7 US gallons and put in 1.25 teaspoons of Epson Salts. He did not improve after 24 hours so i replaced half the water in the bucket with fresh treated water and added another teaspoon of Epson Salts. He is still sitting on the bottom moving his mouth a lot but has not pooped. Should I continue this treatment or am I mistaken and it is not constipation? Before any one asks the tank water did not show any Ammonia or Nitrite but maybe 5-10ppm of Nitrate - hard to tell. I am about to do another water change in the main tank tonight and will refresh the water in the bucket with more Epson Salts unless I hear otherwise from this forum. Thanks for reading my post - Tony
  3. I started repashy soilent green about 2.5 weeks ago with my 2 GF. My thoughts are if you have a fish with constipation/floatiness or just a poor digestive system this food is a good switch from pellets. Its not a cure-all as I hoped it might be. I still have to be super careful to not overfeed. I am dividing up about .75gram between the two of them along with about 1/4" green bean and a pea every day as the repashy wasn't enough by itself to get rid of his constipation. Any more food then that and it starts over. Their air eating is way down though they still do it after meals. What I've noticed the most improvement in is probably his floatiness that I have been very worried would turn into permanent swim bladder issues. They both swim throughout the tank way more than they used to. At night, after I turn off the hood light, he spends the rest of the night slowly cruising a couple inches above the bottom of the tank, going round and round the tank. Its very nice to see this. She still floats in the current at night while she sleeps but she has never had the digestive issues as him. I have been hesitant to add any other different foods in yet. I need to figure out the exact amount I can give him before seeing the constipation/floaty issues but I think I'm close at .75gram divided into 3 meals along with veggies. I am definitely finding out less is more with food with them. If you have a fish with these kind of issues, repashy is worth trying.
