  1. Just an update on this: This was a bacterial infection. It moved to Geppetto's organs and caused dropsy. He quickly took a turn for the worse and passed away.

  3. Last Week I noticed Geppetto had a white spot on his tail. On Sunday it appeared larger. I did a 100% water change and treated with aquarium salt and anchorworm treatment. I think I was staring at it so long it appeared something was coming out of it, but now I don't think so. Today another one is on his pelvic fin. My ph stays consistently at 7.4 Ammonia 0 Nitrite0 Nitrate 5ppm-10ppm I have a 55 gallon with two large Thai orandas. I do a 60% water change every Wednesday & 100% every Sunday.
  4. Ok good! He's doing really well, I've been doing the salt & lots of water changes & keeping the temp around 80*. Yesterday I added Kordon ich attack which is an herbal med I found at my lfs and today there is only 1 or 2 spots on him left! I think he will be okay! ????
  5. Does he still look puffy to you koko?
  6. Here's another! Neither of them ever looked puffy in the body to me, it might just be the reflection of their scales.
  7. I can't because I'm at work, but here is a video! ????
  8. I'm pretty upset about it! I'm hoping this guy (no name yet, taking suggestions!) heals up quickly!
  9. I read up on that, so I did a 100% water change and added 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons =11 tablespoons of aquarium salt & raised the temp to 80*. A friend of mine recommends Kordan rid-ich
  10. The seller agreed to refund me or send a new fish. I'm opting for a new fish since I don't want my male to be alone. I have a 29 gallon qt set up and running. This has been pretty much a nightmare. Last night I did another 100% water change on the main tank and switched from aquarium salt to Epsom salt since my guy had some irritation from the lice. Now the irritation is gone but He does have about 4 or 5 very small white spots on the tip of his tail that appears to be ich. I'm not surprised after all the stress he has been through. I raised the temp in the tank to 79*-80* and added 1/8 tsp per 5 gallons of Epsom salt. Should I add more to help treat the ich? If so how much? I was also planning on fasting him today. Otherwise his behavior is great and he's acting like a happy healthy fish. Thank you so much for the kind words & help.
  11. I also found a fish lice on my male. He seems to be doing ok. The seller said she will mail out meds & either refund me, or I can choose a different fish. If the latter I will be quarantining that fish like a crazy lady. Any suggestion on what I can do for my male to ensure he will not also fall ill? I did a 100% water change with prime, some aquarium salt, and vita Chem. Not too often but every once in a while he will scratch.
  12. *update* she passed away tonight ???? S.i.p
  13. Ah I see. That makes me feel better. My gut feeling is she injured herself. Maybe the male got a little rough during spawning? Do you think I should fast her or only offer greens until her constipation fully clears?
  14. Also, what are you using to view the video? On my end on my iPhone it's extremely clear and you can pause and see it really well. I do have a good photo of it though if someone can tell me how to post it.
