  1. Do stunted goldfish (kept in bowls, vases, ect) still undergo the same color changes as properly kept goldfish?
  2. The BN passed away and I decided not to replace them. Frankie, for whatever reason, stopped surface gulping and swimming weird.
  3. I can't get a video because he stops whenever I'm near the tank. The plecos are only an inch long and my water parameters show that they aren't an issue. I am not concerned about my stocking, I am concerned about the behavior from this new fish. This is the main tank as I don't have a QT nor room for one.
  4. Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tank) 0 * Nitrate level(Tank) >5 * Ammonia Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrite Level(Tap) 0 * Nitrate level(Tap) 0 * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8.2-8.4pH 14-16gh/kh * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) 8.2-8.4pH 14-16gh/kh Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? Api Master Liquid (Drops) * Water temperature? 72 * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? 20 gallons just over a month * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? Tetra 5-15 gallon (ordering a SunSun next paycheck) * How often do you change the water and how much? 90% every 3 days * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? 2 days ago, 100& * How many fish in the tank and their size? 5, Three 1" albino BN plecos, One 3" (body) ryukin named Frankie and One 2.5" telescope eye named Castor * What kind of water additives or conditioners? Prime * What do you feed your fish and how often? Hikari Lionhead about 15 pellets two-three times a day. * Any new fish added to the tank? Frankie and the plecos * Any medications added to the tank? no * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. none * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? plecos have ich, need info on treating with canning salt please * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? I brought home a second fish and he is acting a little funny. He swims sideways and head-up frequently and this morning is surface gulping. He is a very compact bodied ryukin (he has the hump behind his head and everything) so I thought he may just be floaty but the surface gulping this morning makes me concerned. Castor is acting fine. I also need info on the amount of canning salt to dose for ich, please. I want to note, these fish will be moved to a 75 gallon within 5-6 months.
  5. I fell in love with a calico ryukin today... He is now in Castor's tank as well. I'm so used to doing 90% every 3 days from her cycle crash, I'll continue it now that he is here until they are large enough to move to the 75. That won't be long, Castor has tripled in size in the less than a month I've had her. He is a bit larger than her and named Fred by my husband, lol. I also picked up 3 - 1" albino bristlenose to grow a pair out in. I have other tanks to move them to should the create an issue with the goldies.
  6. I'm from Florida, lol. My husband is from Abbeville. We live in Delcambre but want to move to New Iberia, Broussard or Youngsville. I'm hesitant to move back to New Iberia. It's scary there.
  7. The sand and 3 different sized gravels were only $14 all together! I have A TON leftover but it was way cheaper and much nicer looking than anything I would get at the pet store. As soon as I get a hood I'm going to get some fist-sized and slightly larger/smaller rocks as well and will plant it better. My goal is river-esque! I had to wing it living in Louisiana and google not having pictures of riverbeds! I'm growing her out in here and will be growing her out with 3 dojo loaches and some ghost shrimp. (:
  8. I just went from barebottom with marbles to sand and gravel! Boy has it been an EXHAUSTING day!!!!! She seems to really be enjoying it other than occasional bottom sitting but she just got put in the tank. She's bottom sitting now but I'm gonna give her some time to adjust. The plants are just there for the sake of seeing if I can grow them with the floor lamp providing the light. (:
  9. That sounds like a lot of fun! I wish I had a pond, but I live in a condo with only a small concrete patio. One day ... Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk This is what horse troughs are for!
  10. I wanted to add you can make a stand like she had with the self-watering system out of some egg crate zip-tied together.
  11. I have a floor lamp positioned at the side of the tank. I'll turn it out. She's swimming a bit more now.
  12. I'm actually happy she chose the top rather than the bottom. It's a relief to finally see her.
  13. She's still being very still. This happened yesterday afternoon. Why did the torn part of her tail turn color?
  14. Ammonia .25ppm Nitrite 0ppm Nitrate 0-5ppm (wasn't 0 but not quite 5) I double-dosed prime to take care of the ammonia until I do a 100% WC tomorrow. I'd do it today but I want to scrape the algae off and I need my husband to take the tank outside.
