  1. Hi guys, I just had a quick question. I just received a fish in the mail from dandy orandas yesterday, and ever since I put her in the tank she has looked a little floaty. I know that fish can get really stressed out from shipping and in the past when I've ordered fish online I've noticed some bottom sitting with new fish, but never floatiness. It's making me really worried, so I was just wondering if this is normal? I noticed there was a lot of poop in the tank this morning so is it possible she's just constipated? Is there anything I can do to help her, like give her peas or something? Any advice would be appreciated.
  2. New baby!

I have a kitchen scale packed away somewhere that I might try to dig out. I'm curious how much he weighs! That would also help me track how much he grows.
  3. New baby!

Meet my newest addition! I went to my local pet store yesterday to buy some more kitten food, and of course I had to look at the fish while I was there. I noticed that they had just gotten a shipment of baby celestial eyes, and they were just so cute I had to get one! I'm still working on a name for him/her. He's such a tiny little guy, I've never gotten a goldfish this small before. When he's done with QT I'm gonna put him with my bubble eye, but I'll definitely need to fatten him up more because he's way smaller than my bubble eye! I hope he grows quickly.
  4. Hodor has been badly injured....please help! D:

Yeah I'm glad too just so I can have it on hand. Too bad I paid a little extra so it could get here faster and now it doesn't matter, but oh well. Maybe I'll plant Hodor's body in a nice flower pot with a pretty plant or something. I don't want to just bury her outside or something.

I went to check on Hodor, and it looks like she is no longer breathing. R.I.P Hodor. You were a very good first fish, and you got me into this wonderful hobby. I'll miss you.

I have triple sulfa but I'll probably have to order the metro stuff. http://www.petmountain.com/searchx/0/0/1/1/?s=seachem+metronidazole Ok I ordered the metro, it should get here on Thursday (why do my fish always get sick on weekends??). When I got home from works grandpa told me he saw Hodor swimming around a little bit while I was gone, but when I went in to look at her she didn't appear any different from this morning. At the moment she is still on her side and her scales are still raised. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if she improves.

Actually upon closer inspection, it looks like her scales are still a bit raised. I just wasn't looking at the right angle. So should I do the epsom salt instead?

The scales look pretty flat now. And yes there's an air stone in there. Should I use melafix or anything?

Good morning everyone....Hodor is still at the bottom on her side. She's like barely breathing. Is there anything I can do for her??

Just got home from work....she's laying at the bottom of the tank on her side now. Will update in the morning.

I have her set up in the 10g now with an air stone. I haven't added anything to the water yet. Hodor is just sitting in the corner and not moving. I took a couple of new pics of her from the side:

Ok, I'll set that up then. Should I use any salt or antibiotics in that tank?

Ok. I just tested it (posted the params above) and the last time I changed the water was Monday. I was planning on doing another big water change tomorrow and add more prazi, but should I hold off on doing that now? Do you have a QT tank if she needs to be separated?Go ahead and do the water change tomorrow, but hold off on the next round of Prazi for a couple of days. I have an extra 10g, I just need to scrub it out a bit. Do you think that one would be okay? Should I set her up in a QT tank now or should I put her back in the main tank? (I have her in a bucket atm.)
