  1. I do have substrate. It's a mix of Aqua Soil and some other plant nutrient substrate.
  2. Unfortunately he was gone when I came back home today... Sigh. The trio in the 30 gallon will be sold off to the lfs because I just need a break from goldfish for now...
  3. Now as I was inspecting him for anything else, his dorsal fin looks even more deteriorated. Is this the start of fun rot?! Ugh. I'm the worst fish owner!!! I don't even understand what I did wrong this time!
  4. I've transferred him into a hospital tank with an airstone, heater set to 78 degrees and conditioned. I tried hand feeding him but he spit most of it out. I'm pretty sure he's eaten atleast some of it. Also, I filled the tank half full, will this harm the process? Update photo:
  5. Alright. I'll update you guys on how he's doing, when I get back home.Thankfully he accepted the food.
  6. Yes. Angel Plus Antibiotic II is what I'm referring too. This really has me down now... Just this morning I found that his Dorsal fin had some decay(?) Heres a photo but it's really hard to see. He's eaten the Antibiotic II Angel Plus. When I get home I'll check the water parameters again, and seperate him into a quarantine tank. What are there any additives I should be aware of adding into the tank? Besides conditioner? Thank you guys. Really. This fish is so dear to me. So your responses mean so much.
  7. I think he has dropsy.... His scales have raised up since I've gotten back but nothing has improved. I'm going to start feeding him the Antibiotic II
  8. * What do you feed your fish and how often? NLS, Hikari Lionhead Pellets, Cichlid Gold Pellets, and Bloodworms. I switch between the 3 pellet foods everyday (just depending on what I feel like feeding) and they get occasional bloodworms here and there. * Any new fish added to the tank? No * Any medications added to the tank? No * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. He hasn't been treated for anything. No background of illnesses. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? No * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.? He stays at the bottom, in. Weird curved position, which are shown in the photos above. I've not been home all day so I will input more information if anything changes. Thank you all in advanced!

  10. Holy moly! What a great deal!!! Are there still more plants up for grabs? I'd like to get in on it too!
  11. Here are 2 more photos. Also, I have Antibiotic II on hand, will this be of any use?
  12. Hello, I just stayed at a families place last night only to come back to seeing my poor Black Oranda oddly positioned near the ground of the tank. Here are the water parameters: pH: 6.8 Ammonia: 0 ppm Nitrite: 0 ppm Nitrate: 0 ppm It was a also bit cold when I came back. So I plugged in a heater for their tank. The temperature was probably around high 50s- low 60s. I set the temperature for 78 Fahrenheit. What I feed: Hikari Lionhead Pellet Food NLS Sinking Pellets Hikari Cichlid Gold (if I do feed these I make sure they are soaked because they're really hard and have a tendency to float) Occasionally I will feed them bloodworms. I'm really unsure what the problem is??? And my water parameters are really unusual... Are they supposed to be that low? Maybe he's just bloated? He hasn't shown much movement unless I gently hold him to inspect for any minuscule damages done to him, which there aren't. The filters I have running is a sponge filter and an Aqua-Tech 30-60. I unplugged the Aqua-Tech so he wouldn't be pushed around. This tank is a 30 gallon with 3 other small fancy goldfish. I know it is overstocked. I will soon be dividing them into seperate tanks. I do one 75% water change at the end of the week. Conditioner I use is Prime. Please help, I hold this fish really dearly. He's one of my joys and prides of fish keeping! Symptoms he's shown: Nothing but lie around in a curved weird position. He'll occasionally try to right himself. Could it possibly be that I over fed when I left? Thank you in advanced. If you have any questions please feel free to ask, or if you don't understand anything let me know so I may clarify. Thanks in advanced.
