  1. Thank you. I'm just watching videos of her with Coral and remembering when she was happy and healthy.
  2. Thank you. She had a good life even though it wasn't as long as it should have been
  3. Thanks I'm going to the garden center today with my mum and grandma so that will cheer me up when I get to the fish bit.
  4. She got dropsy and was not well at all. I couldn't treat her because I only had a bucket that I could use as quarantine and my mum wouldn't let me buy anything bigger. I'm not sure if she would have survived anyway, even if I had treated her.
  5. I have a similar filter and have the cord slightly under the water so it should be fine! I don't have the spray bar trickling because I just can't sleep with it so it doesn't matter if you don't. You might want to in the summer though when it's hot, maybe just in the daytime.
  6. Aw thanks everyone, you're all so understanding here.
  7. He seems to be doing fine so far so I'm not too concerned anymore. It's nice to hear that your fish is ok by himself. I'll give Coral lots of attention and will be around him a lot since my desk is right next to the tank!
  8. Thank you so much, I really appreciate the help and support.
  9. I just wanted to let everyone know that Peachy is dead now . It was so hard to do especially when I had to take her out of the container when she was dead. Coral had been right next to Peachy all day and would nudge her sometimes. Just a few minutes after I took Peachy out of the water to euthanize her, Coral was so active and started following my hand like she used to. I think she new Peachy wasn't well and was kind of distressed by it. I think that Coral will be fine by herself thankfully. I just did a water change and will give her some spinach on a vegetable clip to keep her entertained. Thank you everyone that has helped me, I don't know what I would do without this site!
  10. Good thing you said that. Noticed now that I wrote "in" which, ofcourse, I shouldn't have. (which I also know so it was really rather stupid of me) However, isn't it so that the glass is only reflective if you look at it from certain angles and from outside the tank? I mean, if you're in the water it wouldn't look reflective right? (at least, that's what my boyfriend tries to tell me) Anyway, just asking. I have no experience keeping goldfish alone and as such, were just guessing, thinking of possible options. Edit: with options I mean options IF it doesn't work to keep him/her alone. Not before you know if it works or not. I have a mirror propped up behind my tank,...seems to go unnoticed by my fish. I kinda like it though, because it covers the wires and looks clean. ...plus, it makes my tank look bigger... That's a good idea!
  11. Yeah, that's what I'm going to do . Well I bought the clove oil and am going to do it now. It's been a hard decision and I can't believe that just last week she was perfectly fine . Thanks for your help.
  12. I was thinking of putting the mirror on the outside kind of like you would do with a betta but I'm sure Coral will be ok without me doing that. I didn't even notice HemligaHajen write 'in'!
  13. Thanks. I don't think my mum would be ok with me doing that many water changes a day especially since we can't use our kitchen sink at the moment. Also I don't know if I really could because I'm not very well (I have a stomach ulcer and feel sick quite a lot of the time). Thank you for the suggestion anyway
