  1. This is amazing to look at. Thank you for sharing it.
  2. I love the idea of naming her after her red "hair"!
  3. I really love long, flowing single tails on my goldfish types, but orandas are growing on me!
  4. I didn't even know they had teeth! That is adorable.
  5. I have a water change scheduled for today, so that seems like a good time to start taking substrate out. What percentage should I take out? Also, I love the idea of having two filters, so I think I'll definitely take the advice to buy the 50 now and another 50 perhaps after tax return!
  6. That means a lot, coming from you! Yours are so gorgeous!
  7. That sounds really reasonable. I haven't decided if I'll be having real plants or not yet, but I can always keep extra in the cabinet in case I change my mind!
  8. Those look great! It says that they come in 5, 20, and 50 pound bags. How much would I want for a 29 gallon?
  9. Thanks, everyone! I will relay the compliments to her! I honestly am not certain. The tank was a hand-me-down and this was what came with it. It LOOKS to be a mixture of the standard gravel that they sell for aquariums at pet stores and some larger rocks that I can't identify. Seems to be about halfway up the Mohs Hardness Scale. I'll be getting rid of it very soon at any rate, as I don't care for it at all.
  10. I have been haunting Craigslist with no luck. I have been looking at the AquaClear HOB filters. They seem to be reasonable and I have heard good things. Would one of those be a good filter for my tank? If so, should I go for the 30 gallon size (150 GPH) or the 50 gallon size (200 GPH)? I'm not sure if bigger is better when talking about goldfish.
