1. what if i do the water change everyday? LOL
2. is it harmful to the fish if i do water changes too often? say twice a week?
3. @tithra: in 2-3 minutes they are soft but they still dont sink :S thats my only problem because my fish is still going to the surface for food
4. I have a lot of frozen kernel corn in my freezer and I was wondering if this would be a good substitute for peas?
5. no i do not presoak them, but i do try to hold the food in the tank for a while before releasing them. I find this hard though with the pellets because they just float off and i cant get a good grip on them.
6. I have nutrafin basix and nutrafin max sinking pellets. Are these a good choice for staple foods? and the sinking pellets take forever to sink. Are they suppose to do that? they usually float on the surface for a while
7. how long does it usually take after a water change to start seeing results?
8. Thanks everyone, A few of you have helped me out already haha
9. @ oerba yun fang: oh cool haha I will give that a shot when i get my pay cheque! @ kukana: Alright cool, ill try this out when i get another chance to head to the pet store.
10. Hey everyone! I bought 3 telescope goldfish 5 months ago unfortunately i 2 died after 3 days of purchase because they were unhealthy to begin with. I joined this forum to make sure nothing will happen to my last one. He is my favourite haha, anyways I look forward to meeting you all and I hope you can give me some helpful tips!
11.
@dnalex: thats a pretty interesting tutorial haha I will try that soon! but im confused about one thing in the tutorial, i fill the ceramics in the whole filter?

@kukana: will the bioballs work with a small 10 gallon filter too?

12. so im guessing its better to get one of those bio wheel filters correct? so i wouldnt touch the wheel but i would change the carbon and the sponge?
13. yes the biobags are disposable! makes it a lot easier for me, i just change the cartridge and thats it! And isn't the nitrogen cycle something that starts when the tank is newly set up?
14. there isnt a 0 option 0.1 is the lowest for the nitrite test haha. so all water changes from now on should be 50%? its the filter that i got with the tank, i bought it as a kit. It uses the Whisper Biobags and runs at 90GPH
15. its the lightest shade of pink and i got the nutrafin test mini master. and how would i do the matched temperature and PH water change? usually i just have a bucket of water sitting at room temperature then i dechlorinate it and put it into the tank after i take 15% out.
16.
i just came back from the pet store and they only have the ammonia and nitrate testing solution left so i decided to buy the master kit and I just tested my aquarium water

PH:7.5

Nitrate:5

nitrite: 0.1

Ammonia: 0

17. @shellbell4ever: I've already posted a thread there haha im going to test my water right now to see if anything is wrong with the water
18. I do not have a water testing kit but I plan on buying one soon, those are a bit pricy and ive been holding off on getting one. I will get the water tested at the lfs right now, off to the pet store! but what do you think it is? could it be an infection or swim bladder?
19. @ tetralover: thanks haha but i dont think my fish is doing too well right now
20. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/202/img1314bk.jpg/
21. @ au-fish: my fish is still rather small, the body is only about 1.5 inches long, including the tail it would be able 2.5 inches. the bin is just temporary until i buy a larger tank @alistairw: so would i also move all the gravel into the rubbermaid or is that unnecessary? will my fish do okay if i just add the airstone and the filter? Another question is, if i move my fish to the rubbermaid, it would be able to hold more water which means i need a better filter as well correct?
22. it wouldnt let me post images for some reason? but here are the links to the images http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/202/img1314bk.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/15/img1295jt.jpg/
23. I currently have my telescope goldfish in a 10 gallon tank and i was wondering if it would be a better idea to move him into a larger rubbermaid tub before i can get my hands on a larger tank?
