  1. Hey, another member from California! Welcome to the forum.
  2. Beautiful tank and fish! I love the black and orange one. Also your cat's disapproval is priceless.
  3. I cannot stand any kind of animal fighting for human entertainment. Ugh!
  4. Thanks everyone, that eases my mind! I get a lot of anxiety worrying about health problems after what happened to our previous two Goldfish. Thankfully now I know we have soft water and Gold Buffer is working beautifully. Hurray for happy fish!!
  5. I just moved our larger Oranda to the cycled 20 gallon. The first thing I noticed was his color changed to much darker when I put him in. Compare the new video to the second one to see what I mean. The second thing i noticed was how active he is. Oh my gosh, he is acting very hyperactive. So I took a quick video. Is this what happy Goldfish do or is he stressed? Thanks! New Video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SoYTlT_kmc Other Video. See how much lighter he is here? He was like that until I put him in the 20 gallon. Perhaps it's the different lighting? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00rCDi5yV14
  6. Cycling is done, hurray! I added some ammonia last night because it was at 0 ppm. It was consumed much faster than 24 hours. Nitrite is 0 and Nitrate are around 40 ppm. I'm getting ready to do a big water change, turn down the heater, and then I'm going to add the bigger Oranda. I wont add the two smaller guys until the bacteria can adjust to new bio-load.
  7. Someone has too much time on their hands... That was just stupid.
  8. That's true and he does seem to be changing a little each day. Thanks for the explanation! Thank you! The lionhead is so small and chubby, very cute indeed. Bronze would be cool, but I think he may be turning orange, which is cool too. Good point, Koko! Thanks for the input. Thank you for the nice comments everyone!
  9. ...because I'm curious as to why my larger Oranda has held onto to his/her fry color so long.
  10. It's great to see your beautiful Goldfish in action! I have a soft spot for Oranda's as well. Your tanks are awesome too!
  11. Bit confused... so no on adding more ammonia? Just checked it and it's now at .50 instead 1 ppm. Nitrite still 0. I'm not the most patient person, you may have noticed. When it comes to working with animals I am, but with other things I find waiting difficult.
  12. Amazing transformation. She is very pretty!
  13. Very very close indeed, but not quite ready for fish it seems. It has been 24 hours and the ammonia is still present. Should I not add more until it is gone, and then add 1 ppm to see if it is consumed in 24 hours?
  14. Update! Nitrites are at 0 ppm, Nitrates are 80 ppm. Ammonia is 1 ppm, I added it last night at around 11:00 PM so hopefully tonight at that time it will be at 0 ppm.
  15. I wonder why he/she has held onto the fry color so long? The other two are quite a bit smaller but already have their color.
