  • How many Goldfish
    Two white fantails.
  1. What's a "stock tank"? Yeah I was concerned about the sealing that might need to be done or any other precautions since imo it might have problems later on down the road from being willed with water 24/7 seasonally being thrashed, lol.
  2. I was thinking it might look pretty if it were a nice urn with a wide top opening...I can't compare that to a kitchen sink rofl. Gaw, reminds me of the time I drove by someones trailer out in the sticks and they had some sort of fish in a FULL ON TOILET...in the front yard. Why didn't I get a picture, gah.
  3. So my four goldfish have been slowly outgrowing their tank and I've thought about getting a bigger one. I drool over the thought of an outdoor pond but I can't afford it right now. So I was thinking, has anyone ever tried using a large clay urn? I was thinking if it held a good 60 gallons I could use it as a Goldfish pond and maybe put some plants etc in... hmm..
  4. Well my best friend is already into fish, she keeps a community tank and since I've recently gotten into it myself we both have hobbies to share now. It's a relief to have that, lol.
  5. Okay so I took him back out of the main and back into QT because he was getting picked on. Started treatment with .1% salt and he seems to be doing a lotttt better. Swimming a lot more and even trying to eat. Hopefully this will fix it
  6. I put him back in the main tank thinking to treat them all. It's so sad because the fish that I bought with him has been laying next to him and trying to get him to swim. All of the other fish seem perfectly healthy but ol' blackie just seems to be having some sort of swimming problem. He acts like his back is broken or something, he eats and tries to swim but gets tired and floats back to the bottom...feh idk
  7. No redness and it's coming from right under the cap of his wen...it's a fuzzy sort of white spot and it kind of trails off from his head, kind of like it's attached by a thread..
  8. Even tho I can't offer any advice I say your fish will be healthy soon, I say
  9. As far as your gravel, 2.5-3" is optimal and since you have some root thriving plants I'd suggest it. You could try a layer of Eco-complete under a larger layer of plain gravel. Eco-complete is a aqua-plant substrate that provides more nutrients. Lighting should be at least 2-3 wpg (watts per gallon) the higher the wattage, the higher the need for co2 and if you have any colorful plants, they're going to require a lot more light. If you're thinking about planting your tank heavy I would definitely recommend trying to inject some co2 and other nutrients (macro and micro) for the best results...
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sjhe1xFAoNw Here try this, I changed the settings
  11. Ok so here's a vid: http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Sjhe1xFAoNw Notice the white spot coming out of his gill? There are two spots attached to eachother trailing out. Parasite? He doesn't seem to be doing much better/worse on his 4th day of prazi treatment but I suppose that's a good thing. He still tries to eat too but not very well. Also, I'm starting to notice twitching and rushing in the fish in the main tank...
  12. Ok so here's the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sjhe1xFAoNw It might not be fully processed yet but I gotta get to bed Notice the white spot coming out of his gill? There are two spots attached to eachother trailing out. Parasite? He doesn't seem to be doing much better/worse on his 4th day of prazi treatment but I suppose that's a good thing. He still tries to eat too but not very well.
  13. Wow really? That's very interesting...an audible noise you can hear outside the tank too? I gotta hear
