December 26. Drained to clean out and check for babies... Luckily enough, all 7 babies are still alive. Elizabeth continues to seem weaker than the rest, but no goldfish shall be brought inside and so she went back with the rest. The mud hole was quite clean at the bottom. Scraped out a few leaves and some loose mud and that was that. All fish very tiny, ranging from 5-10 grams. Despite that, they aren't thin. They won't grow at all during winter. Any that make it to spring should begin to grow.

Here's some others. I've ordered a small sticker of each one, so hopefully they turn out ok I'm planning on continuing the series with a shubie and a pearlie anyway, but if they turn out well I will go back and do recolours of the ones I've done as well so there is more variety

@Shahbazin that’s such a mooove! Work related? I’m glad you arrived safely, how do your girls like it? Ankle is healing, just slooow. One month down, two more to go before I can weight bear. My two youngest sons had their fourth and second birthday celebration today (they’re only a day apart on the calendar) and that was fun! We’re getting some nice family pictures done at 11:00 today too, which I’m also looking forward to. Well, and trying to not eat my weight in cookies! That’s been an ongoing battle this Christmas 😱

Well hopefully she doesn't die anytime soon. She's definitely a nice fish. Very different. Definitely a Koi mix... But that's a good thing because that's what makes her the way she is. My favorite fish is still little Bayana. If I can grow him large enough, he may be a show stopper. He's the smallest one of the group, so I am not sure he will grow well... But I sure hope so.

Thanks Myra ^^ I suspected she was a Koi Hybrid when I got her but wasn't really sure since Koi are illegal here. But how she is grown and kept her colour, and her shape show there is definitely some Koi in there She is definitely one of, if not, my favourite pond fish. I'd be devastated if I lost her.

Just wanted to introduce myself. Been keeping fish for many years. A little over 30yrs actually so im not new to the hobby. My first and foremost love is fancy goldfish, then koi, followed by everything else that lands here. I'm running quite a few tanks atm. 5- 125gallons, 1- 200gallon, 1- 150, 2- 40, 2- 80, 2-60, 4- 55, and 4- 5s. ....and this summer the hubby and I are doing a 1200gallon tank build (indoors not a pond). My garage has never had a car in it because its one big fish room lol. Currently I have 16 goldfish, 2 axolotl, 3 koi, 4 oscars, 1 bichir, and 30ish of a variety of rescued and unwanted fish. The number of rescues fluctuates because I do rehome healthy fish. I am a member of another forum and while I love the people there, they dont really get my love of gold. They're all about the monsters. Hoping to get to know some like minded goldfish nuts and learn some more. Because while I know quite a bit after all this time, there's still room to learn more. Thanks for having me!

There's no visibility whatsoever right now... But the babies seem A-OK. We've had a warm spell where temps have been near 70 and they've gotten a tad hungry. I need a new net... The other one plainly sucks. With the size of the fish and the visibility of the water, I'm not concerned about predators too much... But if they begin to grow, it'll be a concern. The hunter we have here is an owl. He hunts only at night. It's truly quite large... With the fish looking like tiny little a pecks lol Still totally gross looking but fishies are fine. In spring I'm going to make some adjustments to it... But for now we wait. VID_20181231_135737.mp4

I see that you, FishyMandy and Mjfromga, like a lot ranchu and oranda breeds. Just let me share my favourite type of fancy goldfish- what do you think about sakura oranda calico? You know that I like single tails but since long time sakuara oranda took my attention 😍 FishyMandy, all of your goldfish are beautiful and it’s obviously that you dedicate a lot of time and love to them.

I actually don't normally like single tails, but they've grown on me ever since I did an experiment with them and kinda ended up stuck with them. Now I don't mind them at all, though I still much prefer Fancies. I have a baby Sarassa Comet that I hope makes it to spring and I'm able to raise. They're not as popular as these plain orange ones and it would be nice to have a decent sized one and see how they look as adults.

Welcome! Honestly rinsing the filter, especially if you did it with tap water, probably did more harm than good and could cause a cycle bump. The power outage could have impacted water quality as well, but we need some more data to tell. Your nitrate numbed doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, in the form below please be sure to include which test kit you used so we can figure out what scale they’re using to measure and convert to PPM, our normal unit on this forum For the water quality, we want the levels BEFORE a water change, so we can see how the filter is functioning. If you’ve done a water change today, please wait a day or two and retest so we can get some better parameters that aren’t skewed by it being fresh water from the tap that is being measured erroneously. Make sense? Test Results for the Following: * Ammonia Level(Tank) * Nitrite Level(Tank) * Nitrate level(Tank) * Ammonia Level(Tap) * Nitrite Level(Tap) * Nitrate level(Tap) * Ph Level, Tank (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) * Ph Level, Tap (If possible, KH, GH and chloramines) Other Required Info: * Brand of test-kit used and whether strips or drops? * Water temperature? * Tank size (how many gals.) and how long has it been running? * What is the name and "size of the filter"(s)? * How often do you change the water and how much? * How many days ago was the last water change and how much did you change? * How many fish in the tank and their size? * What kind of water additives or conditioners? * What do you feed your fish and how often? * Any new fish added to the tank? * Any medications added to the tank? * List entire medication/treatment history for fish and tank. Please include salt, Prazi, PP, etc and the approximate time and duration of treatment. * Any unusual findings on the fish such as "grains of salt," bloody streaks, frayed fins or fungus? * Any unusual behavior like staying at the bottom, not eating, etc.?

Lovely guys. I have a Comet that reminds me of your Ferrari. The photo is of her when I got her last October (smallest most ugly runt EVER). And I shot this video of her today. She's a girly and yours are all boys but still, the way the tails look on those two is so similar.

Hello, This is my first post and wanted to say hello. We have several tanks in our home and we recently started an Oranda tank. I currently have two fish that I got from Dandy Oranda and they are incredible. But I wanted to share a picture of this guy I recently found at Petsmart (I know not the ideal place) but I believe he is a diamond in the rough. Please let me know what you think.

She has gotten so big! Interesting physical characteristics too. If she doesn’t have some koi in there I’d be surprised too, especially with the broadness through her gills. That is a very torpedo shape for a Goldie

Taryl, I hope you ankle is healing & that you are getting the help you need with your kids & household! MJ, I love your new cories! I rehomed my tropicals before moving last month, but was down to just one female peppered cory after some years. I feel the multiple tank thing - I only have the goldfish right now (in 1 tank), & they are plenty. We moved from southern CA to southern MN last month, and so I've been insanely busy since September - selling our old home, buying the new one, as well as packing & doing all that other moving stuff (I still need to get the car registration & drivers' license stuff sorted, but to do the latter, I need to wait for my new birth certificate to come, as I hadn't seen mine since the 1980s, & had to send off for a new copy...). We used a commercial moving van for our stuff, and drove out in both cars - my husband took both kids, the cat, hamster, & terrarium with snails, and I took both dogs, both goldfish, & most of the luggage (although we also had roof bags strapped to both cars). We stopped overnights in Phoenix, AZ; Santa Rosa, NM; Wichita, KS and Des Moines, IA on the trip - Best Westerns are great, that's what 3 out of 4 of the motels were, & they had no problems with our menagerie. We had to buy a new glass tank after we got here, as it would have been really expensive to move the old one, & I found a 75 gal on a $1/gal sale only an hour's drive away. My dad mailed our filter media to us, as I couldn't have stuffed one more thing in either car.
