Gel Food

Lachfa

Ok I have spent all morning making a new batch of gel food for my fish. My fingers are all wrinkled from removing peas from the shell. While doing this I was thinking some one should sell "deshelled" peas. Then I had the bright I idea to use baby food! Not just for the peas, but for all the vegetables. It's already pureed and there would be no cleanup. Baby food is suppose to be all natural - I haven't went and bought any to check out the ingredients. I'll give it a try and let you know how it went.

:D YA know,it's been a hundred years since I bought baby food Lach, but I would like to think that the baby food today is of the very best quality, and natural as heck! I've been wanting to try the gel food, and that seems like it would certainly make things alot easier!!!! Call me crazy, but it sounds like a great tip to me!!!!! :yeah:

And just why didn't you ever share this great idea with us Koko! :wa Do you think I enjoy squishing peas while I watch Saturday morning cartoons!? The ingredients are endless - fruits, veggies, even meats!

Hey i just thought everyone liked to pop peas. But seriously, just didn't think about it Hun. Sometimes I just do things and then forget to tell, I got so much information in my head that I cant get it all out.

The only foods that i don't use is like beef, some of the mixed fruits, I'm to worried about fatty liver and sugars that are in some of the fruits. :D

ok my big question is... in a gel recipe how much would a person need.... cause those jars are pretty small.... I should know I feed my son those about 1 1/2 ro 2 years ago... love the idea alot better than cooking and deshelling everything.... it's already done for you in the baby food.... oh yeah and the most organic on the market that I know if is Hienz...Natures Goodness... they have a yellow label... when I was Feeding our son I tried some of them and I will say they are the most blad tasing of all the different brands, so they don't add anything like sugar or salt and the like to get the baby to eat it so would seem to me it would be better for the fishies having nothing added.... Just a bit from my recent baby food expierences...

Yep I don't have a tip of the month award yet - gimme that one! :D

The recipe I use calls for 1 cup of veggies, 1/2 cup tuna (blended together) and 2 packs plain geltin. I got the garden vegetable and peas but I haven't made it yet because I had just made a new batch when I thought of the idea.
