Now that I have my Python, how do I rince out the Penguin's filters? There is no tank water to rinse them in. Also, my plants hate the Python.

Those of you with Pythons, what do you do?

Since the Penguins have biowheels, and those biowheels are the main site of biofiltration, you can rinse out the mechanical filtration media with tap water. This is what I do. You could also scoop out some water into a seperate container and squeeze the filters out in that. This is what I do with my biosponges and other biomedia.

I have penguins and use a python too; I do what HappyGoldfish said. What I do is rotate the cleaning of the filters. I have two penguins on my 55 gallon (330's--so that's a total of 4 filters). I have them numbered 1&3 on the left side, 2&4 on the right. I take sponge number 1 out and rinse it good with the sprayer, the next week I do sponge 2, etc. I also numbered the filters on the other 3 smaller tanks and do it the same way.

I have a Penquin 330 and a Penguin 125 on my 30 Gallon tank and I have them numbered as well. biggrin.gif I will start saving some water into a bucket for the cleaning of the filter cartridges.
