I was looking in my local paper last night and noticed someone was selling a 30gallon second hand tank with stand and accessories.
I dont no what accessories they were.

It cost £35 in english money ... which is around $65 (i think sad.gif )

Is this cheap? i only have a 20gallon now, and have three fish init. I asked my mum for a new tank for my birthday which is on the 7th of june ... but i dont think i can get something cheaper than that do you? i might consider getting it ... but it really depends on what my mum thinks

i'd say that was very cheap compared to what i've seen in the past week.

In Liverpool i've seen 30 gallon tanks with stands for £100 (although these are brand new, but without filter/heater etc.)

Make sure you let the forum know if you get it!! and what it's like!

Yes it is a good deal.
I bought a 30 gallon new with stand and light for $135. A few months later I got a used 30 gallon with stand filter and light for $60. So it is a good price. Its probably the cheapest you will find in "good" condition. Make sure to check that there are no leaks, and ask WHY they are selling the tank. If they say all the fish died... *really* scrub the tank down well with bleach to make sure there are no nasties there.

Goodluck!

i have a similar decision to make myself now.

There's a massive tank, about 29gallons available in my LPS for £15 (about$30-35 i think)

it's very dirty, and i'm going to speak with the owner of the shop to see if there's any real damage, if not, i'm buying it.
Tanya_woz_ere
so did you get it? smile.gif

sorry, forgot to reply to this topic!

yes i did, it's all clean now and ready.

it turned out it wasn't second hand, it was unsold stock that had been left in the store room for a while and the shop wanted to get rid of them, they had 36 gallon tanks for £22.50 and bigger tanks for other low prices.

i don't have the room for the bigger tanks, otherwise i would have opted for one of them.
