Is it possible to fit a light to a tank lid that didn't come with one?
there are no holes or fittings etc. just a plain lid.
thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, just measure the width of your tank, and get a strip light. Unfortunetly strip lights aren't cheap. They just lie on top of your glass tank top, with one (or more) long bulbs.

If you have a nnnnnn in the UK, they have cheap shop lights, come in black or white, and all you do is getting aquarium bulbs for them. They are on most of my tanks....

UK don't do cheap Unfortunately but I am having the same problem. Except my tank is only 12" x 8" x 8" so its difficult to find a light to fit. If anyone knows of anywhere in the UK that sells small light fitting then please let me know.
