[B][FONT=Optima][SIZE=7][COLOR=red]Can anybody help me, i was cleanin my 14 gallon fish tank out today, so i took the two fish out and put them in the sink, with there tank water in there. I then cleaned the tank and gravel and added my AquaSafe stuff to make the water ok. When i settled them back in with as little disturbance as possible i noticed that my one fish had a small hole throught the fin comin off the end of him. Also my two fish don't seem to eat much, so i put orange and lettuce in after seein this site and they wont eat that either, is theyre anything else i can try and tempt them with ?

Hmmm... nothing we can't fix. Just keep the water very clean (keep the water parameters good in and tip top shape) and it should heal on it'd own. If it doesn't heal within 2 weeks, I would treat with MelaFix. If after that nothing gets better,
then I would move to the larger meds like Maracyn I.

This is probably just run of the mill fin damage. If there an ornament in the tank that could have done this? Goldies get caught on the silliest things.

About the eating, try feding peas. Most goldies love peas. De-husk them and make sure they are not frozed. Just throw them in the tank, they usuallt gobble them right up... although... my fish hate them! tongue.gif

Anyways, try the above and see what happens. Things should improve. Also, be sure to soak all the food you feed them. Pellets, flakes etc... goldies are prone to swim bladder disease and so the excess air should be taken out of their food by soaking it in water first.

Keep is posted and good luck!

laurachapman1 u mentioned that you put the fish out in tank water while u were cleaning the tank. Did you empty the tank and all its content? what are you tank parameters? Do you always use this process to clean your tank?

I was wondering the same......I would be fearful of putting my fish in the same sink that I use to clean dishes with soap and chlorine....did you do a 100% change or something? Wouldn't that ruin your cycle? Did you notice the hole before you moved your fish to the sink? Their little fins are so terribly delicate maybe he was hurt during the move...

Sorry about the twenty questions thing I guess I'm a little confused. smile.gif
