Well I got the ph stuff and it nicely went up in 2 hours to 8.2 at 12 am. Last night before I went to be it was still 8.2 and now this morning it has dropped to 7.6. I hope it stables out if not oh well nothing else I can do.

What is your pH usually?
Maybe it would be better to add a buffer to the tank that leaches the minerals etc needed slowly over time?

Hey Rachel... I had a really really hard time keeping my PH level. As per advice on this message board. I added tufa rock and small pieces of crushed coral to the tank... and treated my water changes with a little bit of baking soda. The PH stays VERY level. I was so frustrated too because my tap water has a REALLY low PH... 6.4... and i wanted the PH to be 7.5- 7.8. Now it is really stable.
