how long do you leave the babies in the breeder net, hanging in the aquarium? do they need a bigger space or stay there for a bit til they are stronger?

What sort of fry are they?
I would leave them in till they are big enough not to get eaten by other fish in the tank.

sorry, they are guppies...they are about5/6 days old

Any other fish in the tank besides the parents?

I had guppy fry in my community tank ages ago that had the parents and gouramis and a few other smaller fish. Some will get eaten, but it really helps having lots of plants.
Java moss is a good one - very easy for the fry to hide in. I remember thinking all my fry had gone, and then one day I saw the cutest little face peeking out form the java fern - made my day smile.gif

I would keep them in the net for a week or two still. Unless it is really stressing them out (other fish can see them and try eating them through the net - happened to me!).

well, i have a little gallon and half container that i orginally had when starting out with goldfish for 2 fantails ( spank me) i have those 2 in an 18 gallon tank now. so i have the babies in that container now. the tank the parents are in has guppies and a couple of platies that i may take back - they are healthy but i have another pregnant guppy and just no more room in that twenty gallon tank. It has hiding places but i am unsure now about trying to "save" the babies as I have not much room and hubby looks at me funny when I say , maybe I will just get one more 10 gallon tank!?! lol
